Midwest parks

mad river is where i've been riding at over break...i normally would ride bmbw butt i've decided the 2 1/2 hr treck south is worth it...so they have a jump line...2 and 3 need work for sure but 2 is $$$$ (the knuckle for 1 is the perfect setup spot if you want to hop switch, nollie,butter, whatever)... you can do everything up to a 10 if you're willing to huck yer sheeei... pretty much everything up to 7 is floaty even 9s if you take it deeper...as for rails..where to start where to start..too many to make note of but hopefully i touch base on them all ...in the upper park you have a choice of a skinny flat box thats has a mellow "up" grade to it or flat rail both way sick perfect kicker perfect landing etc etc ..then you have either the choice of a flat down rail or a bigg battle ship ..after that you go into the down flat bar which has been pulled out of the ground a bit..such a fun fun rail and then you go into a low short fat box thats cool to mess around with 180s and nollies ...after that you can cut a hard right back to the jumps where you can hit a perfect up rail or you can hang a left and go into the lower park...lower park you start off and can go left to hit a fat battleship which is fun to hit the first up and gap the rest or you can go right and hit a long shotgun rail...next is either a super long fat box.. sw ups for days or to the right theres a flat down box..after is a gap to down box and then and urban setup down rail...real long super fun circle bar (they redid the kicker and it just slid so perfect) or you can go right and hit a pole jam to flat box....and then it wraps up into the dance floor....if you take the park lift all the way to lookers right...they have a small step up..great for learning your first 3s or unnaty spins...most of the rails were takin out of this lane to start setting up for the louie vito rail jam but might i make note that there wallride at the bottom is the smoothest if not one of the smoothest wallrides i've ever hit...perfect tranny on..which you don't find often in the midwest got about 10-15 ft to go then before you get to the top and the backside has a matching tranny in case you go over the top...an awesome thing about this place is that it FLOWS! something that I rarely see in midwest parks...you either hit rails in a run or jumps in a run usually but here you can hit both...and thinking about it (yesterday) if you wanted to take a rail run from the top you can hit 9-10 rails in a lap...that's more than i've been able to do at park city thus far on any day....and if you would like to hit jumps you can hit jumps and then hit 3-5 rails depending on if you carry speed uphill just a tiny bit


all in all mad river is slaying and makes it worth driving the extra hour 1/2 for me. if you get the chance this season make sure you go down to mad river at least 3-5 times they are always mixing up the park...i've been home for a week and the park has been different every time i go (in a good way)

Mad River is where it's AT. Park is absolutley prestine, jumps are as big as ive ever seen in ohio this time of year, and theres rail features galore, clearly the best park in the midwest from what ive heard.

Here is the edit for facebook and whatever else. it was shot real quick over a few hours. i am waiting for the vimeo version to finish but here is a sample. there will be a better edit to come, as soon as we get back there again, but everyone should go check out, especially this Saturday.
