So today started out really good, dot my first surface switchup on a rail, pretty good for me. I was having a good time then the shit hit the fan. I was going down a fucking circle to the lift and I was buttering and caught an edge and smacked my head off the ground (wearing a helmet) and blacked out for like 10 seconds. Got up skied down then went up the lift to ski patrol, I had a concussion. So I go to the lodge and wait for my parents to pick me up and put my helmet goggles and Armada Pipe gloves on the table beside me and sat and talked with my group. Now the whole time I was up there my stuff was right behind me and when I go to leave my helmet and goggles are there but my gloves weren't. fuck no gloves. So I leave and go home, and when I get home I can't really remember anything so my mom was seeing what I remembered so she asked me what I had to eat at the lodge. I was thinking and my dad walks in and goes "You're in a fucking bad mood and won't answer your mother, you're not going skiing for the whole winter break."
So:
I got a concussion,
got my gloves stolen,
and got grounded from skiing for the entire break for nothing.

fuck.

lol I remember my first concussion. I didnt think anything of it, until two weeks later I still had a headache, so i went to the doc and hes like "yup, pretty serious concussion" i loled

I got a concussion at a skate park in a foam pit. I was going for a double rodeo, started flipping to early, and smack, my head hit the lip of the ramp. From what i was told i did a full front flip before hitting the ground. Then i had to miss like five days of school and get all caught up, it sucks

So I'm fuck tired and I was trying to go to sleep and my mom walks in my room saying "I'm taking your ski pass because you have to treat your parents better."
So say I was one of those people who cuts their wrists and just hates their life. I just had the worst day of my life, how do they know I wouldn't kill myself after this. I wonder how they can do that, just treat me like shit after my day went terrible.

haha, jokes man. I hear ya though. Just let them sleep on it then explain how much of a headache you had/ still have and tell them it made you irratable and they will prob give you your pass back

Yeah dude don't worry about your pass I'm sure they will give it back to you don't try to be a bad ass just say you're sorry and you were feeling like shit because you had a concussion and be nice. Anyways I'm sure you were being a bit of a dick to them anyways.

I broke my only pair of working skis two weeks ago.
two days later I felt kinda sick and I went home to my parents kinda early for break
I didn't get any better, so I went to the doctor. bam, I have mono.

no drinking or smoking for 6 weeks
and If i fall hard enough, I could rupture my spleen, so no hard park shredding

once i was on the med's they gave me, I still wasn't getting any better.
eventually my throat had swollen shut so I couldn't eat or drink for 3 days, and barely manage to breathe

I had to go to the ER, I get there and they have to cut open my tonsil to drain the fluid backup so I could breathe. Now I had to spend the day in the hospital spitting my own blood into a cup.

it's been two days since then, I can only eat soft foods and I still can't ski for another two weeks or so. but I did get new skis, so that's a plus...



shut the fuck up and just be happy you're healthy

16. and yeah my dads always a dick. A few weeks back I had swine, and I always get the garbage outside on wednesdays. I could barely walk with swine and he comes up and says "get the fuck downstairs and take the garbage out."

Hey, no need to one up this kids story. He is having a shitty time, and just because you are spitting up blood and have mono doesn't mean his shit is any less hard on him. And he isn't necessarily healthy, he has a concussion and he can't ski either.

But to the thread creator, sorry to hear about what happened. I'm stuck at home with a concussion too, but from a car accident, it sucks. And your parents are totally out of line.. hopefully they realize that soon.

ok not really mad about this but it is kind of odd.
My dad is still being a bitch to me and today I got a Canon Rebel for christmas and it was one of only like 3 gifts. The other two were a package of like 3 tall tees and an alarm clock. When I opened it I was psyched but then he said in these exact words, "That's the families camera, you have to ask me to use it and you're not aloud to take it to the ski slope." WHAT! They got it for me for christmas just so they can have it? and I can't take it to the slope?! wow. But not whining because Is till got some tall tees and a kickass alarm clock.
