How to convince rents to not make me go on vacation

I'm 18 if that matters or not. My parents are leaving today to go to Michigan for a whole week. We won't get back till the 30th of next week. I don't want to go, not because I don't want to see my family, I'd just much rather see them in Easter when I don't have shit to do.

My reasons:

1. I live in CO. Huge snow storm coming in so pow to ski all week.
2. I have the manager from Taco Bell calling me the 28th of next week, I'm supposed to start working the 29th. How am I supposed to do that if I don't get back till a day late?
3. Promised a bunch of people I'd chill with them.
4. Being Christmas season and all, the crime rates in our neighborhood have risen (seriously) so why not let me stay home and watch the house while they're out?

Any help on what to say to increase my chances of them letting me stay here?

your 18, tell them your mature enough to stay at home by yourself, you listed a bunch of legit reasons.

maybe use the taco bell argument first, and if that doesnt work, go into the skiing/crime argument

Well if your 18 its more your choice what you want to do, but you must consider what your family will think of it.

You live in CO, all the snow and shit.. Good times. But we're celebration the birth of Jesus, come on, is it really that important. Dont misunderstand, I love to ski, but sometimes you just gotta take your time and handle other stuff.
There's alot more taco bells out there, dont you worry!
Thoes people probably got families they need to hang out with aswell.
I understand the part about the house, but you're taking it to far.

If this is what you tell your parents for not going. Then I insure you that you're family will think you're an asshole. Well idk maybe im wrong, but I personally dont think your family will be really happy with you.

spending time with family > a couple of days of skiing... especially when you already live in CO. you already can go ski a bunch. take a break and see your family.

doooode, come to michigan brah. From my experience with working at fast food places, they dont hollar at you the day the say they will...they are usually late.

And Michigans season has just started...ski here. Some of the parks out here are pretty sick.

you live in colorado. its not like its gonna stop snowing or the season ends in february youll have plenty of time to ski.

you dont want to work at taco bell dude. that shit will suck. bag grocerys or something.

spend time with your family. plus your probably flying and they already payed for your ticket.

FACT: Taco bell uses ground up pieces of kitten and rotting dog for all there meats. don't ever eat there, or any other fast food place for that matter. learn how to grocery shop on a budget and cook your meals yourself.

i love people like you. act like eating at taco bell or other fast food places and eating at home are two mutually exclusive things. yeah we get it, youre so mature and cool, youre anti fast food. great. the rest of us can eat normally and sometimes eat at a fast food place, and its not gonna make one lick of a difference

I don't personally buy into whole spending time with family argument. It is not necessary at all, but he is still living with his parents, under their rules, so what they say does ultimately go. Guarding the house is just icing on your argument, but what it really comes down to is their rules. You'll get to choose if you come home for Xmas before long though, so don't worry!

Most of those reasons you listed aren't to legit. First, you live in Colo. You can get powder whenever the hell you want. The only decent reason was the work-related thing at Taco Bell, and dude....it's taco bell. getting fired there wouldnt be such a tragedy. spend some time with your family, youll be glad you did.

I live in michigan and i hate it. NO good skiing. So stay home and enjoy the mountains you have. Tell your parents that you are being thankful for the environment that you live in.
