so i wondered, why is it that hip hop is like the soundtrack of freeskiing? you go to a movie premier, and the whole evening just hip hop mixes, most professional videos and nearly all amateur stuff has the blackest shit on earth in the background while showing the whitest kids of them all: mostly rich, well-raised kids out of some suburb/mountain village
i mean, i have nothing against that, but i ski and thats what i wanna show. personally i dont like this hiphop (streetwear) style, but no skier would even think your capable of throwing a 3 if youre not wearing XXXXXXXL pants/shirts all day.
bottom line might be that i find it sad that our so-called freeski culture has nothing original to it except than the actual skis.
remember back in the day, all the movies had a way harder soundtrack to it. i dunno, maybe its just cuz i am (relatively) old, but that was the day, vinnie d, jp, jf, cr and what their names are, reppin their sport, when it was more a sport than a job/business. now all the labels push into it (which has positive aspects) and the original layer is covered by 10 Xs and one L.
thx a lot
