Help buy hd camera

i just starting filming last year, and found the sony hd sr 10 to be sick. Its an hd cam and has the stablizer, which works great for skiing, but havent used it for anything like wakeboarding. It costs about 600 but if your willing to spend more than sr 12 the higher model is even sicker.

what editing program do you use with it? is the footage easy to trasfer to a computer?

a lot of people of ns use the cannon hv30 and its pretty easy to get it onto final cut pro (thats what i use)

Here are some cameras you might want to research: canon hv30, canon hfs 10, canon hfs100 theses are all in your price range ,but all offer many different things so you might want to look into each one and see what is the best for you.

i never got around to getting a camera when i posted this but im now in the market. i have 700-1200 range to spend. i want get a wide angle lens also with that money. can someone help me out? how much do lenses cost ect. thanks

im looking at getting an hv40 but ive heard it might be a good idea to get something with a flash memory. im not really sure what the difference in all of them are. this is my first camcorder. i want something that i can progress with and not need a new one next year.

1) What is your budget? How much money can you spend right away, and do you think you can get more money to invest in the future?

im looking at spending 700 ish and a bit extra for an add on wide angle

2) What experience do you already have with cameras? Have you ever even used one before? Have you helped your friend out with his camera? Have you owned your own?

filmed with friends cameras and school cameras quiet a bit.

4) What are you planning to shoot and how do you want to use your camera? Are you going to use this with the sole purpose of shooting skiing? or do you think you might try other stuff as well (movies, documentaries, short films, etc)

i want to mostly shoot skiing and wakeboarding. i want to get into trying some other stuff as i go.

5) Do you want a camera that you can hand to your friends, that could or could not have film experience, and let them shoot you? or will you be doing all the filming?

i want something that i could teach a friend to use in a few days. mostly me filming but teach one friend to use it too.

6) When filming skiing, how do you tend to shoot? (follow cams, leave it on record on a tripod and hike, film from a tripod, etc)

all different types i want to try a bit of evedrything.

7) What computer do you currently have/use to edit (if not currently editing, what would you most likely use)? If you can provide specifics, such as hard drive space, RAM, processor size, that would be great.

i have an acer laptop not sure specs.

once i get my camera perents are going to buy me an editing program for my birthday. reccommend some of these would be nice too.

Torrent an editing program. And yes, I recommend flash memory. Look into the canon vixia hf and hf s series if you want more info on anything pm me
