Jay peak/mad river--vermont

i'm gonna head up to either jay peak, or mad river tomorrow, and wondered what people thought might be the better choice. i haven't been to either, so which one would be better now as far as conditions/bumps/glades... ect. if anyone has been there let me know, what the conditions were like. are the glades at jay skiable with this little snow... or is everything icy and hardpacked.

i havent been to either this year, but mad river is only natural snow, so id say head to jay (they probably have more snow anyway)

i would say jay. i havent been to either yet this year, but the snow at stowe that was ungroomed was borderline treacherous, but the woods were decent. buy still without much snowmaking at mrg, i would say go to jay

i've been to mad river before. it was sweet, everyone was laid back. cool tree runs, 0 park. i would imagine jay is much better though.

I'm at Jay now, woods are skiable. Rocks everywhere, stumps evreywhere, getting skiied offf more and more everyday. Groomers are very icey, not the greatest.  I would go somewhere with a real park and just hit that up all day.  Better than tearing up your skis.

unless it Just snowed a bunch than hit jay! that being said when conditions are good mad river has BY FAR the best terrain in new england. sooo sick! no snowboarders and a bunch of cliffs!!

Mad river is super fun, but there is no park and i dont think it'll be too good earlier in the season as far as snow goes so i'd go to Jay

well there is still powder in the woods at mad river. nothings groomed except the cat track and its all soft

its cold and very windy so i'd tend to recommend mad river, a few friends were skiing pow in the trees today and said it was great, haven't heard about jay, but stowe today was windy as fuck and started to get icy
