DEW TOUR SUCKS!!!!

well kinda.....

Dont get me wrong, i really like the dew tour compared to other big events like the x games. but i was watching it before work today and the mens snowboarding slopestyle finals were on with the womens finals first. i wanted to watch some shreddin before work and figured id settle for snowboarding since its better than nothing. the shitty part of it was that the time between the mens finals and the womens finals were filled with one clip of an interview or something that happened the day before and then 5 minutes of the same commercials. In an hour of watching the dew tour i saw one completed run by a women (every other girl fell atleast once), and only a few runs by the men. if i wouldve known i was gonna waste my time watching tostinos, mountain dew, and nike 6.0 commercials i wouldve gone online and watched porn instead.

yeah, the snowboarding part today was horrible. also the judging was disgustingly bad, some 16 year old won cuz he had a double cork, while like 2-3 other guys had wayyyyyyy better run WITH double corks and only got 3rd and 4th

As far as I have seen, the dew tour has done a pretty good job. Good courses, open qualifiers for am athletes, giving our sport much more TV coverage than it used to get (aka nothing besides the x games). It sucks that its so hard to watch because of all of the advertising but those advertisements are what funds the majority of the tour, which is giving our industry the support it needs.

thats a good point, and thats why i said "kind of...."

it does give our sport great coverage it just sucks that it takes so much time to do so. and plus its snowboarding that gets all the main attention

I assume by "support" you mean getting to watch it on cable TV. I find it ironic that we sacrificing so much of the soul of this sport for advertising just so we can ,as the creator of the thread pointed out, watch a few runs and couple of interviews on cable at midnight on a sunday.
Why does anyone care?. does it somehow become more legit because its on TV and nike has commercials.
With original contest creations like Joss (which is free to watch and relatively free from commercials) why do we need or want heavily advertised contests like the dew tour.

torsteins run was by far the best, mikkel had the 12, but torsteins run was just so fucking clean. it should have gone
1. torstein 2. mikkel. 3. tyler.
the kid that got first had a sick run, but he just didnt throw down as hard as the other guys. the course was fucked though, almost every rider ate shit.

meeeh idk that kid killed it had amazing style..but im 16 which a kid like that is just throwing down sooo hard its crazy and he jus won a part of the dew tour... But idk why torstein got 4th he should had 1st or 2nd eaassilllyyy that was bullshit.

I watched the snowboard finals and they definitely weren't as good as I had hoped. But congrats to Flanagan for winning. And right now i'm watching the slope finals and they are sick!!!!! Although I do think Sean Jordan got screwed a ton on his score from his first run.

also i love how the commentators look at the double cork as the "new" trick of the year when really jon olsson invented it and has been throwing them for a while now. it just seems like no one is giving skiers the credability..

I am kinda frustrated. Everytime I turn the dew tour on, it is snowboarding.
The only skiing related thing I have seen was Colby's Nigel Barrington thing haha.

You may want to do some quick research and look up Travis Rice. He among others ushered the double cork into snowboarding, and no, it wasn't called the Kangaroo flip. I don't think Jon deserves the credit there. Also, it is "the trick of the year" when it comes to pipe...with Mr. White, Davis, Vito, Pearce, and Mitrani leading that charge in SB, and Wise and Rolland in skiing.

they had a lot of camera angle mishaps.

they missed at least 3/4 of the hits of the top two rails

the camera at the top was horrible

on a couple of runs they had the camera for the third jump show the second, so you couldnt see the landing and it was super zoomed out

it was really hard to see the flat down that was second feature from the bottom, i couldnt tell wether andreas missed it on his 630 on

i think they should add follow cams, one thing i really like about watching xgames is that extra follow cam angle. now i dont know about the cost implications of such an addition, but i think it would help a lot
