Mad River Saturday, December 26th

This Saturday is the Louie Vito rail jam at Mad River. I know this is a snowboard event; however, its open to skiers, as well.

Anyone and everyone thats within driving distance should make a solid attempt to come. It'd be sick to have a large turn out of skiers and everyone lay it down. Below is the schedule of events:

Schedule Of Events
  • 2:00p-3:30p Registration
  • 3:00p-4:00p Practice
  • 4:30p-5:30p 10-13 Jam
  • 6:00p-7:00p 14-17 Jam
  • 7:30p-8:30p 18+ Jam
  • 9:00p Awards

    • This will definitely be a good time and sick set-up. The park is super sick right now. Bulzan and Heff were laying down cab 10s over the 2nd hit. That should give you a fair idea of the size. Anyone traveling from afar, PM me and I'll see what I can do about sleeping arrangements.

    The after party will be worth the drive alone.

    what are you talking about - examples?

    it was a snowboarder day/event. i think mrm does a lot for both skiers and boarders.

    yeah man, you cant really bitch about the setups not being "set up" for skiiers when it was a boarders comp to begin with.

    i thought the park was pretty dope. lots of fun rails and boxes

    i will say they did step it up from last year, giving us a seperate division, with sick judges.

    but i think what chris is talking about it how the winning snowboarder won a trip to windells. and all he got was a pair of bottom of the line spy goggles.

    mindala was the winning snowboarder and he did not win a trip to windells. the trip to windells was part of the drawing.

    everyday at mad river is a boarder event, its basically just a boarder place, if it wasnt for you terman there most likely wouldnt have been a skiers event, and lets just say they were lacking on the prizes on the skiers side of things but i give mad river props for putting up a jump line already. In my opinion they should just combine all three jumps together to just have one legit jump rather than having three not so good ones

    dude snowboarders didnt get anything that the skiers didnt get... mindala got some shitty spy targa goggles too that looked ass ugly (i know this because im the one who opened that pack up for him), dont make this a bigger deal than it should be.

    and as terman said, the trip to windells was a drawing that you entered by giving them one half of your bib with your number on it. im not sure who won it because i didnt care to stick around for that...

    since when did skiing become about winning prizes anyway. i guess being with friends and having a good time riding with them isnt for everybody.

    i agree with the prizes being kinda lame, but i had a whole lotta fun and met some sick new skiers. i learned a ton of new tricks and had a blast. to all ppl who weren't happy with the prizes, later in the season im sure they'll probably get better. terman wan some twins last year for big air. keep shredding mrm yo!

    I thought it was pretty sick, especially for the fact that a skier division was created the day of the comp.

    Im sure there will be comps down the road where the prizes will be sick for the winners plus tons of gear for honorable mention riders.

    Hopefully with the cold weather and snow thats in the forecast the jumps will get a makeover sooner rather than later.

    I wasn't there for the comp, but I rode the day after and I was impressed with the park.

    Everything was setup awesome and the amount of rails on the hill was crazy for this early in the season.  Major props to the park crew and management for making it happen.

    As far as the comp goes.....yeah it's lame about prizes, but if you had fun during the comp then I'm sure it was worth riding in anyways.

    My friend Corinne won the females division and she got a pair of headphones for first place.  Oh well.

    I'm stoked to come back.  The place is really dope and really worth it for BMBW kids because we get half off.

    Dude word. I came up from perfects for today after hearing some good things and some pretty horrible things and I was SUPER impressed.

    The park that they have going is sooo sick and the layout is pretty awesome. The only good jump there was the step-up at the end though, the rest of the landings were realllly flat, but I think they'll fix that once they can make a ton more snow. (hopefully)

    But I'm kinda dumbfounded as to why people were saying bad things about MRM's park, because I was pretty damned impressed.

    Their park is set up soo good right now. the third jump was definitely the money jump and im guessing the others will come in time with better weather and more snow. their were so many different rails/boxes set up too..including a sick dfd probably pushing 40 ft plus. Is anyone plannin on headin up this weekend?

    added some more features today and switched up some as well. in the upper, i removed the down flat and placed the dragon pipe along with the wide bar next to it. i also put in the short single barrel handrail on a down next to the c-box. and added the down flat pipe next to the stairs on an urban setup. at the bottom flat i put in the propane tank. oh and there is a new jump on sugarbush for your enjoyment. a legit 50ft step up.

    The park is in ruins right now no joke. Traveling Circus just obliterated every rail feature that Josh and Al had to offer. Compton spins like a top, andy is soooo creative, and will, well he's wil fucking wesson and then jack who's now tagging along is so stylie too. Plus they're the best, friendliest skiers you'll ever meet had so much fun riding with them....but yeah each feature is probably on it's side right now especially the dfd
