Some quick background.... This Christmas will be the last one i spend with my family for two years. (LDS mission, don't hate) And sadly, I wasn't going to be able to afford a $650 seasons to my local resort as well as pay for tuition and other expenses. So.. this season didn't look too promising for me. I have 3 younger brothers, and each year for Christmas we draw names and buy gifts for eachother. This year, the second oldest to me drew my name.
So... early one morning he asked if I could give him a ride up to the hill, and I said alrighty. So when we get to the mountain, he hands me an envelope. Inside of this envelope was a letter. This letter proceeded to tell me that my little 15 year old brother had given up all the money he had ($200, my parents helped with the rest for xmas) to go toward buying me a season pass so that he could ski with me for the last season we'll have together for two years. I could not believe my eyes. Attached to the letter was a sticky note with a confirmation number for me to go take my picture and get my pass. I read this and I couldn't help but to cry. Then he said, "Come on bro, lets go ski." He had packed all my gear in the back and hid it under a sheet. To think that he would sacrifice that for me, just to spend some quality time up on the slopes, blows my mind. I'm so grateful for him, and that he gave me the oppurtunity for me to ski this season. This is the true gift of giving and utter selflessness. I have such a great brother. I'll never forget this.
Just thought I would share this with everyone. Thanks for reading all.
