god dammit. theres no more good bands. like seriously, i was the only kid in my one class that had sublime no their ipod. i was stunned. same with the chilli peppers, matt and kim, GREEN DAY. why does everyone hate green day. i dunno. nobody listens to good music. fack.

RHCP haven put out a good record in ages..

saw them live on the stadium arcadium tour...

they were pretty weak

such a let down

I love the older stuff...

im with you man,   the chilis are one of my favorite bands,,,   theyre pretty much an allstar band.
i mean  i like rap and hip hop a lot (which seems to be all NS kids are into...),  
but sriously bands like this are the best.
i really hope they can still make amazing music without him


my favs =   raconteurs, chilis, weezer, blink, death from above 1979, teenage bottlerocket, [old] greenday,  jimmy eat world, kaiser chiefs, offspring    etc.

Not sure how you can accuse people of having bad taste in music when your own taste seems a little narrow based off your post. There's a lot of good stuff out there, sublime isn't a necessary addition to everyone's ipod.

And how can you say the chili peppers haven't put out a good album? By The Way was amazing, and although I wasn't quite as impressed with Stadium Arcadium it was still an awesome album. There were some awesome songs on there.

I'm sad to hear frusciante is gone though, I loved a lot of the guitar work on the chili peppers' stuff, the solo in Hey was a favorite of mine for a long time. New guy has a lot to live up to.

yeah i guess that was the wrong thing to say. i guess im just trying to say that teenagers in general have a shitty taste in music. me on the other hand, definetley not narrow. i like basically every genre of music. buit nt metal or twang country, yeah? i have tons of bands, metric, illscarlett, bedouin soundclash, the killers, kanye, cudi, dl incognito, the marleys, peter tosh, and then those guys i mentioned before. i like all types of music, yeah?

but we both ski at pano, buit i think i changed my name since we last talked, but there is basically 4 people on this site including you and me from pano. so .. yeah man. just whatever. i cant even type this has taken 10 minutes. i need to go skiing sshit

yeah i'm pretty bummed, but i support his decision. it's about making the music that you want to. if he wasn't diggin it then its the right decision. the thing with having a band together for as long as rhcp is that a lot of the time the members musical taste changes. that s what happend i guess. as far as 'good' music goes, there's no such thing. its completely subjective

That is uncalled for, and a negative statement, which leads me to beleive you are a negative person. So im sorry you are a negative person and cant find happiness in this world. ya man im bummed too but some of his solo albums are sooooo good, curtains is a perfect ski album, just put it on loop and slay some pow in the trees.  anyone know what he is planning on doing now?  or what who the chili peppers are gonna hire to replace him?

RHCP has been around longer than some people in NS have been alive. I think most people who have seen them through most their career would agree that they're in their down days now. I was never a big fan of them, but their music just kinda got cheesier and cheesier.

Kind of like Korn.......use to love them, but then things just got weird during the Follow the Leader / Issues days and after that I didn't even care to listen to them anymore.

RHCP will probably just pull a "Korn" and hire some musician to fill in for the guitarist and go on. It seems that drop in replacements are popular with bands now a days.

he'll be back. This isnt the first time he quit. They have gone through many guitar players. As for their sound goes, i agree that the music has gotten kinda lame over the past few CD's. But there all still kick ass musicians

Green day was good like 10 years ago. Now they suck.

But ehre still are some good bands. Everything mainstream blows pretty much. I saw that Frusciante left on jambase the other. day. I def wanted to see chilis sometime.

the problem with new green day is that theyre fucking retarded,    i mean retarded in their choices of songs to put on the radio.
there are so many better songs on 21st century breakdown than 21guns and KnowYourEnemy,   i dont know why bands choose bad songs to put on the radio.

Red Hot Chili Peppers has been my favorite band for who knows how long. I am a huge fan of their old work, starting with the Red Hot Chili Peppers album, going all the way to Blood Sugar Sex Magic. I still like the albums that followed (especially Scar Tissue), but its that thrash funk, crazy sex rock, I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks attitude that I fell in love with. While their style and music might have changed, I'm still disapointed John's leaving.

Having seen them preform multiple times live, the chemistry the lineup of Flea, Anthony, John and Chad bring is indescribable. Even though, as previously mentioned, I'm not a big a fan of their new stuff, seeing these guys live is exhilirating. These guys just connect when playing music and you can really see the emotion, talent and spirit that drive these guys. With John gone who knows what will happen, but it won't be the same.

i agree with this. his decision to leave this time around seems more thought out. and considering his solo music has such a different sound than rhcp, ive wondered for a while how long he would be able to keep hanging on with the rest of the band.

and nothing against hillel or dave navarro (both could play), but rhcp's best work by far was with john in the band.

The albums they put out with hillel were by far the best...

It was just everything that made RHCP. Raw P-Funk amazingness..

They kinda went weak after he died... still amazing.. just not as good.

freaky styley is easily the best pre-frusciante RHCP album but dude come on don't be ridiculous.  BSSM is one of the best albums of all time.  Not to mention everyone other one is damn good

i don't think there's too much reason to claim that their earlier stuff was better. their style changed so much that i don't even think it's comparable. its like they became a new band. they appealed to two completely different crowds, but i happen to like both their old and new stuff. even though stadium arcadium may have been more "poppy" or whatever i still think it was amazing. so freaky styley was fucking amazing, but to say it was better than their stuff with frusciante doesn't really make sense to me

kid, im almost positive that the reason why he listens to cudi and kanye is because he thinks that thats rap.... probably why the only two people he listed were two newschool "rappers" for lack of a better word.  the only reason why i said what i said was because he said that he was diverse in his selection of music, when its clear he doesnt know what real rap is. 

im pretty sure you were trashing him for listening to greenday because they are "stupid", so i wouldnt be so hypocritical.  its funny how 12 year olds dont even realize they are making fun of themselves by attempting to beef another person.  

oh and putting words into someone elses mouth when it is quite obvious thats what he meant, and then you saying its "preschool shit" because i did so just once again fortifies my point on your lack of knowledge because for you to not see the fact that he thought cudi an kanye were "rappers", is an elementary mistake if you ask me.
