Alright, i just picked up a pair of skis for this season, and took them out for the first time today, and only skied for about 4 hours. When i got home, i looked at them and counted 11 edge cracks!!!! One of them seems to be pulling out already. What do I do now?? Please help.
Get them warrantied. Unless you bought a rep sample, in which case you're SOL. That's a major bummer though; I've had a similar thing happen and it's really frustrating.
1 or 2 would be expectel, but 11? That's a bit excessive and hints at a defective product. If this is in fact true, I would seriously consider getting in touch with salomon to inquire about warranty issue.
Seeing as they are a fews years old they were probably used and had cracks already they got worse. You must be some giant fellow who slams onto rails to crack 11 times in 4 hours!
I would definately try to get em warrantied, but if ur still ridin them you can take a gummy stone to the cracks after every time you use them to smooth them out and prevent them from catching and pulling out
no edge should do that. after three seasons of park and all mountain on my rossignol scratch's i had ZERO edge cracks. i didnt even detune them when i got them.
ive had 5 days on my volkl walls, brand new and immediately went to rails with no detune. nothing wrong with the edges.
There is a differnce between rail damage and a defect product. If he had cracked and edge in a spot or two after a few days on rails that would be due to hitting rails. But 11 in four hours leads me to believe the steel edges were defective.
