Official: Liftie Experiences Thread

There have been minor threads about this in the past but nothing major so i thought i'd do one well... cuz lifties sometimes say funny shit and sometimes they're, to put it very nicely, jerks.

Now to start off i'll share some of my liftie experiences. A preemptive cool story hansel will suffice. Cool. Story. Hansel.

Now: Scene: The Kiddie lift at winter park
Background: I'm only goodish at rails. I suck at them jumpers.
Me: Whats up
Liftie: Can you do a trick
Me: Yup
Liftie: Can you front flip
Me: Nope
Liftie: Can you Backflip
Me: Nope
Liftie (as we were pulling away): Then you can't do a trick motherfucker

On the kiddie lift mind you, not the way to talk with younglin's around

And then they heckle you, especially where i ski. I was asked everytime i rode the lift for a day if I had bought a belt yet.

Sorry my stories are not quite epic, just kinda hoping they started it off. Anyway lets hear them!

the liftie at smuggs goes up the tbar in a shovel then slides down in it in the tbar lane. hes pretty awesome

we had this lifty that would shovel snow ONTO the seat of the chair for the "select" few skiers that he thought he was cool and down with.  fuckin pissed me off.  After you told him to "knock the shit off" he would keep doing it and laugh. omg i hated that kid

He would also say the most random unusual shit you can think of.

im at loon and its dumping out, the lift stops and the jamacain liftie working the little sister lift gets a call saying that itll b a fw minutes bfore its up and running again. he proceeds to run inside th little lift shack, turn th radio up full blast to 3 little birds and starts singing to it, by the tim th lift startd again everybody was singing it. funny day.

oh and this other liftie stol my pole for a run once. right before i was about to get on the chair waiting he asked to see my pole because he thought it looked cool and he didnt give it back until i came bac down nxt run.

word, sick stories.

Only ones i can think of are when some guy that was super into calling the line at the biggest quad at sugarloaf got a lifeguard stand installed in the front of the line and used a bull horn one day to call out the different lines, pretty funny stuff.

There was a liftie at Winter Park years ago that would just freestyle all day.  I think he got fired for being drunk on the job  haha

At Momentum when I had Colby as a coach for the day, instead of having skiing goals, he gave our group the goal of trying to get the T-bar operators number. I got it, it's still in my phone actually aha. She was a cutie too.

Well with goggles on, this one looked cute. Challenge 2 was to get her to take her goggles off, I unfortunately failed. Someone else succeeded, they said she was cute. I took their word for it.

Thats the shit thing about lift ops at whistlerblackcomb

probably 2 decent looking girls work for them rest are mongs/its a sausage fest...

But there were defo some hot girls in the camps.. spesh one of the momentum diggers
