i wonder how long it will take until that happens at tyrol, their lifts already break down at least once a year....last year the A lift was broken for like 2 days
ya i am not to happy about it but i cant wait to see the lines. lol jk but it is going to be redic. I am going to be hiking all day in the park. But it is definanitly going to suck a bunch of hard dick. I have a feeeling that all the people are gonna going to cade now that devils head is going to suck dick. Devils head is going to loss so much more through law suits and poeple going to other ski hill because devils head is so sketchy.
Same here, I made this thread and then found the one in ski gabber and was a little disappointed. Has anyone been up to devils head after the accident? I got a shop pass there and want to ski some new hills, and DH is one of the few I havnt skied at.
so this is what happen at Devils Head. click on the link to watch this video of a chairlift rollback that they did on purpose to see what would happen.
Most of the chairlifts in the midwest are this old, with a few exceptions, you guys are all acting surprised. Most chairs around here are 30-40 year old Riblets, Halls, and a few 10-20 year old Yans....The newer Pomas are great and safe but come on guys...
right they are all old.but this one thing you never want to see happen anywhere. lets just hope everyone has done they right maintenance on there lifts to prevent this from happening
Devils head is fun. I was there last year to test snowboards for the shop i work at. And I will be there again in like 2 weeks hopeful they have the whole lift problem fixed by then
The problem isnt the old chairs, its the serious lack of accountability here in the midwest. The colorado tramway board has much higher maintenance and inspections standards, and the resorts have the money to upgrade, repair, and perform preventative maintence.
the problem is the complete ignorance of almost all places in the midwest, its not that they dont have the money, its that they dont have the brains to figure out what could happen.
its the same as guys driving snowcats at hyland on a run where theyre making snow, driving on the backside of 15ft whales of snow, and then at the top there's no closed or warning signs, and all it takes is one kid thinking "im going to go play around of those whales of snow, they look fun" which they do, and he has no idea theres a fucking snowcat on the other side and boom, dead kid, wtf do you do now hyland?
shit bothers me so much bc we dont need friends and families dealing w/ preventable accidents like this, its bad news for everyone.
right this should never happen. on thursday night when i was working there most have been 8 people that rode past me when i was on a closed run in the groomer pissed me off so much i just went and flattened all the whales i could
