Be comforted. You got great value for Halladay. Drabek is a probable All-Star, and the third baseman you got in exchange for Taylor should be good too. D'Arnaud, the catcher, is a few years away from the bigs, but he also could be an All-Star caliber player.
i dont know how i feel about this yet.
its kind of rediculous to trade the best pitcher in the major leagues away for prospects (LOL).
a major problem now is that so many fans promised to boycott the jays if they trade halladay, and i bet most will go through with it.
at least hes in the NL so we dont have to face him...
If the Jays didnt trade him Halladay would have left after this coming season in free agency... and the Jays would have got nothing it return.
The Jays got Drabek, who projects as a solid number 2 starter and should be in the majors by next year, D'Arbour, who should be an everyday starting catcher in 2 or 3 years, and Wallace, who could be with the team at the end of this season and projects to be a guy whos going to hit .300 with 20-30homers and 100RBI for years to come.
The Jays got a great return... obviously it sucks to see Doc go, but it was going to happen now or later... and at least now we got some really good prospects in return, rather than nothing.
Any fans who boycott the Jays for this are ignorant fools who know nothing about baseball.
Mariners get Cliff Lee and Chone Figgins. Finally Seattle may become relevant again in baseball. As goodo of 1-2 punch as any with the righty lefty combo of King Felix and Cliff Lee in the starting rotation!
This was definitely a win all round... Phils get the best pitcher in baseball for 4 years, Ms get top 10 best pitcher and hold on to some of their best prospects... and the Jays get 3 great prospects.
