looking for basic wide angle lens, hd camera, so are the expensive lenses worth the money or is like really any wide angle about the same? do you get what you pay for?

You get what you pay for. If its under 150 id personally disregard it.

It also depends on the camera.  If there is one made by the same brand as your camera, that is meant to pair with your camera, then I'd go for that one.  It'll cost more, but generally will work the best.
