not a professional or anything but this is what i would say...
1. have fun with what your shooting
2. let the songs in your edit reflect who you are, dont just put a song in the edit that is on the billboard top 100 songs bc its popular.
3. dont have say 30 shots of you doing the same trick
4. add in extra time when you plan out your edit (editing can take longer then you expect)
5. its your edit...do what you want to do, shoot what you want to shoot, edit what you want to edit.
keep it steezy
Your edit will take a long time. Be prepared to spend a lot of time editing.
Don't repeat tricks too much, and don't show the same rail too many times. It can't be repetitive or it gets boring.
Use songs people haven't put in edits yet, or that you wouldn't normally expect to hear. Makes them a little more interesting to watch.
Try to tell a bit of a story. Don't have urban rail shot to pow shot to park shot to lifestyle random to timelapse to pipe shot. Doesn't work.
If you have to make a 1 minute edit because you only have that much really good footage, do THAT instead. Do NOT drag it out. Better to leave people wanting more than to have people wanting their 10 minutes back.
