GoPro mounting spots !

Post up where you have mounted your GoPro or would like to have it mounted !

This weekend i'm def. putting mounts on my helmet, longboard and my skis, perhaps also one on my skipole ...


+post up footage of weird mounting positions ! (no pun intended...)

I'm wondering whether it would be better to mount the camera on the side of the helmet or on top of the helmet...

i have no experience with this whatsoever but i've heard of people that the camera is out of balance if you do so, + you'll have to spin all the images 90°

by out of balance i mean that year helmet gets tilted and feels weird on your head...

you might be able to attach one of the mounts on top of your grip, but i've heard, i think from ABEK, that he simply ductaped the multi directional arm to its pole and it works just fine...

I shot some urban yesterday with my GoPro as a second angle to my HV20. I climbed a tree and hung my GoPro from a branch and got a sick bird's eye view.

To attach it to your pole, you can get the bike handle bar mount.  I bet it would work great.

actally you wouldnt have to rotate each clip 90 degrees because there is a special mount that came with my go pro(not hd :( ) and it makes it so you can mount it on the side of a helmet butn keeps the helmet cam sitting the right way, hope this helps!

Mine came with the side mount too.  It's like a double bend.  I personally wouldn't use it because I always hit the side of my head when I fall, never the top.

there is one for the GoPro but i don't think there is one for the HD (yet)

you can mount it right side up on the side of your helmet with that mounting arm. look at my gopro video thats how i did mine.

thats also possible but i was talking about the firmware update coming soon allowing upside down image capturing....

my camera hasn't got the UP or UPd mode, so i expect it to be coming out with the first firmware update...

It works. My friend has it and it works great, and the shots look really sick too. I'm definitely ordering that mount soon.

why would you want both?
wat's the advantage of sidemounting?
is your helmet out of balance when its sidemounted?

im gonna use the sidemount strictly for pow skiing and lines because if i'm going through trees, which i do a lot, low branches wont hit it and i almost never fall on my side in pow. im gonna try head mount for park because spins look better with it on top and i wont ever land on my head (hopefully not) and if i fall i fall on my side a lot.

and sidemount isn't annoying or awkward at all. once you start skiing you forget its there and no longer feel it.

took a while testing different spots but i like it alot
it can go either upside down for a gog strap look or swing and go right side up for a look exactly like the kid with the giro helmet up there^ forgot your name haha

Do you think it would work to put a mount on the toe of my boot?  My skis are on their way out so I don't want to waste a mount that won't be there for long.
