I'm looking to get a wireless transmitter (trigger/receiver) set-up for the flash I purchased recently. Someone recommended taking a look at the transmitters AlienBees had to offer as they are a good affordable solution to the usual Pocketwizards. Here is a link to the site:

if you want to go even cheaper. get the RF-602. (you might already know)
they chinese and take a while to get to the states but they are a super good for the price.

I actually know almost no transmitter brands, so feel free to offer more. I was looking to keep it more local since I live in Canada, so shipping from China would probably take even longer because of that.

If you buy triggers off ebay just remember its not if they are going to break its when. I've heard some not working at all and others working forever. If you peace of mind when shooting buy Alienbee Cybersyncs or Pocket Wizards. I'm purchasing a full Alienbee set up soon and the CyberCommander is fucking baller and the same price as a Plus II Pocket Wizard. If you plan on buying Alienbee flashes in the near future I'd suggest getting the CyberCommander and CSRB+ receivers. If you don't then just get the CST and CSRB's. But Anything below Cybersyncs aren't really that reliable.

Yes! cybersyncs are very reliable i have a setup of alienbees and they work great, havent done to much with them yet but the always fire when needed .

my buddy has the cactus trigger they are really cheap, but do not work all that great. They missfire quite a bit of the time.

I have heard pretty good things about them. I haven't used them before, they just released those new ones at the top.

I use elinchrom triggers, never miss fire.

I think that investing in some good remotes like PW's or Elinchrom's would be wise... doesn't really help when you get a sick set up and your lights don't fire.

I use cybersyncs. I love them. Not a single misfire in thousands of shots. The range is, dare I say it?, double that of the pw's. I've had mine almost a year and haven't had to change the batteries yet.
