Pro skiers that are actually cool

after meeting and sessioning with pros throughout the years, not many are notably chill and cool people. most seem to be x-racers, with a shitty attitude. considering they get paid to ski, you'd think they would be amazing characters, not douchers. this is not a hate thread, listing of chill pros only.

the same percentage of pros are as chill as the rest of us. i mean 99% of the people i meet, i like, why would it be any different with pros? putting pro skiers on pedestals is ridiculous and claiming contact with them is even weirder. they're regular guys... if you have a legitimate grievance with someone who happens to be a pro, then say it, but otherwise it's not really necessary. that said, every pro i have talked to has been really nice and humble, and moreover normal dudes, which you wouldn't expect considering how a lot of kids on ns go nuts about pros like a bunch of pre-teen girls over twilight actors.

from the ones i met

-mik d. he is the absolutely nicest, friendliest and most chilled.
-then colby west- he really is a funny guy, not only infront of cam. we sang a backstreetboys song together ahhaah, good old times.
- met TJ and jossi too. they were nice but not to the extent of tj and mik.
well everybody has a bad day, and they probably have tons of kids talking to them so i can understand if theyre not as open to new people.

from the ones i have not met i think shea flynn is the illest.
he seems to be  a real funny and cool to hang around with guy.

I like this thread. It's nice to know some of the Meathead athletes are nice guys.

In a completely unrelated matter, I met Sal Masakela last year at the Freeskier party and I must say he was one of the most genuine and sincere guys out there. He has a general interest in skiing and knew the up and comers and held a great conversation. The same can be said about Simon.

It's unfortunate that as skiers become more famous and step into the limelight, most of the core audience turns their back on them.

accul chilled with wallisch and the goblin at toms house in wisp, really cool guys. didnt feel scared or anthing to talk to them really. and KZA back in the day at liberty my home mountin i rember being in a qp comp with him. he was like helping me out and stuff i was younger

When Plake was in his prime skiing for Stump, I hated him.  I met him a few years back and he skied a couple of runs with my freestyle kids.  Totally blew me away.  The guys a stud.  Most of my kids were too young to have seen any of the Stump films and had no idea who this Goofy Mohawk Dude was.  He was awesome with these kids.  Mucho respect for Plake.

John Spriggs is chill.  Saw him in the park at Vail last weekend.  He hit this steep up rail and threw a Screamin Seamen off.  He was just screwing around but it was so sick.  On top of that he's always been cool when we've talked.

I rode the chair with Jon last year. He was super cool. This was for a nor-am at panorama, he was just up there with full racing attire lol. We had a chat about JOSS and what his plans were for that, and he just seemed really laid back. Stretched in the lodge before going out, trained just like everyone else despite ridiculously cold temperatures. And he was even chill enough to ask a kid I coach for a ride back to Calgary so he could catch his plane hahaha. He just seemed overall really dedicated to his sport and wasn't afraid to be like every other person out there.

I think they're all probably pretty laid back. You would have to be to make it in an industry where people skills are so important.

CoC 2001 and 2003 my coaches were all chill. Not sure you relevant they are any more, but: Colin Puskas Chris Eby Andy Woods Joe Lammers Damien Cromwell The Tuffelmeyer I went to school with guy who knew T Hall from grade school. He said he is pretty legit, in case anyone needs confirmation. I've only bumped into him a couple times. Seemed nice enough.
