Replying to Going to US to ski

So me and my friend are going to US for couple months next year and we've been thinking of where to go. I know its a long time ahead, but just want to make sure we are prepaired when we have to book the flights.

The first thing is where to go. i was suggesting Whistler (I know its in canada), Breckenbridge, keystone, mt hood or something. What are the greatest plases to go? I've skied pow just once in Åre sweden (South Finland doesnt have) so good powder and sick park is what I'm looking for.

Where to stay? Would it be good to rent a place for couple months or stay at hostel or even buying a van and sleeping there? Whats the cost?
And finally season pass or no season pass?? How much are they? (300-500$??)
