Are you kidding me? He never even said the tanner hall version, and the smith holt is the worst helmet ever, it gives you an egg head and has horrible reviews
i like my smith holt, but it could be a little bit more comfy, the poc receptor bug is a pretty sweet helmet, super durable, and really comfortable, but it is pretty bulky as well.
As far as protection goes, it is with out a doubt anything from POC. I have a Poc Receptor bug and I love it. I have taken a few really hard hits to the dome wearing this thing, and not only have I been fine, but I haven't been able to find any damage to the helmet. Also, there is enough venting that you don't sweat your balls off but not too much where you freeze, you can remove the ear pad assembly to make it look/feel a lot like a skate helmet, and it comes in sick colors.
the smith maze is pretty dank, its super light. i took off the liners and wear a hat under it and its pretty comfy. it has some vents that work really well at cooling you off, almost too much on the cold days which is why i went with the hat
ive been using POC for a couple of years now, longer that THALL btw, and he was smart for making the switch to it.
I had the Smith Holt before getting the POC, i was going to et the POC but it was too pricey at the time. A week after getting the Holt, i landed deep in the tranny during a big air comp, dub heel released, went straight to my head, cracked the helmet completely in half, ended up with a massive concussion, nothing else thank god but it did make me dyslexic, i was out for over a month. I switched to the POC and have had 3 similar crashes, no concussion and the helmet has taken them all in stride.
oh and the POC is multi-impact so your getting more bangs for your buck(pun intended)
