my uncle was a paraplegic and used to teach monoskiing at attitash. I got to try biskiing (monoski with two skis) once and it was fucking hard. I was being tethered and had two skis and still couldnt stay up. Gotta give props to them...

The thing about most of these monoskiers at least from my experiences - theyre fucking nuts. They break something ski diving or in some other gnarly sport and then they turn to monoskiing. These guys aren't really afraid of anything.

One of my uncles good friends from attitash was this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIOLwAyncbk&feature=related erik. the stuff doesnt look that gnarly but those monoskis weigh a good 50 pounds on the light side. Plus they can't really pop or anything. its a crazy sport.

props to that guy for attempting a backflip. must be insanely hard.

I know a monoskier at Park City named Zach who claimed he backflipped over King's Crown (second to last jump) and cased and slightly under rotated. I'm not sure if I believe him, but it would've been sick to see.

So Cool! I was in aspen a couple years ago, and watched a big air comp, and a parapheligic [pardon spelling] went of an 80 ft, poppy jump, and launched over it, started leaning back, overshot it by a little, and came down on his tail, and snapped his ski in half, luckly he was ok, didn't walk away however because he couldn't walk in the first place.
