Time ripping pow anywhere would be nice, skied 3 days so far this season.

Jeronimo's getting pressed en mass tomorrow, good god do I have a lot of skis to finish and get boxed in the next 48 hours. And for those of you who sent me the email back about flex, thanks, I might not have replied, but we got it and will change the flex on yours.

you guys are turning this into a non ski gabber thread.

It's so I've got a set of almost new rossi 140 binders ready for my Cease and Desist skis...
should I mount with these or get another set of dukes? I like to skin and have been doing fine with my megawatts/duke setup. I'm pretty sure my skins will work on both skis.

AND, what is the mount point on the C&D like? -7 from center right? Is this going to be playful enough?

I got my Wrenegades yesterday and i can happily say that it was well worth the wait. Probably one of the best looking skis i have seen in my life. Everything on them is perfect. Exactly what i was looking for. Too bad the idiot @ porters snapped one of my brakes when trying to bend them and i have to wait an extra day to ride them!

So was mass productions on the jeronimo today or over the weekend. also thanks Rowen for the email on the different flex patterns. glad to know there were two killer options for the ski!!

im kinda stuck casue i might be stuck here on the east coast riding strictly park for this year and maybe next year...OR i may be out at UCB charging powder and backcountry.

this is also affecting my mounting decision!

we dont mean to make u feel bad, just know that when my skis come you will be getting a very very long email about how i started crying like a 4th grade girl at a hannah montana concert because i will be so happy after waiting around 225 days

also, i saw a pair of the wrens in person today and that sealed the deal on buying them the second i have the funds(about $100 off)

okay so i have skied on my billy goats for 6 days now and i am in total love.

they are so turny and the 186 does not feel long at all because of the early rise in the tips/tails. they are stiff enough that they ablolutly charge when i get in an open bowl and want to just hammer a turn. i dont know how i have been skiing on my other skis (ARV) for so long. the billy goats are my new favorite skis and probably will be for a long time.

one thing that i did notice about the ski concerning the early rise in the tip. just the tip. there became more of an early rise. if that makes sense? i noticed that the tips are farther apart when i put the skis together than when i first got them. it happened on one ski first and then about 2 days later it happened to the other ski. i am not saying it is a bad thing because now i am able to turn faster and the tips are more above the snow, but it is something that i noticed.

i love on3p.

the bg's are jizztacular, rode them the past few days in tahoe in crud, pow, cliffs, touring, everything that the east doesn't have and they're amazing

here is a mini review of 181 j-mos

my stats:

16 years old
6'2"
155lbs
ex racer

I was lucky enough to try out david's 181 stiff j-mos today at stevens pass, got about 7 runs on them. to say the least, they kill EVERYTHING.

my first 2 runs on them was in the park, they were mounted with sth16s, were quite light and lively. lots of pop, and the rocker made butters fairly easy. on rails they were very stable and easy to toss around. they were even better on jumps. very stable landings and switch skiing on them was fantastic. if you bought these as a park ski, you will not be disappointed!

i then took them out of the park onto groomers, chopped up snow, and old heavy "pow". they blasted through everything with ease. they skis much longer then i expected for a 181, which i greatly enjoyed. they made awesome GS turns even in bumpy terrain and i never had that "washing out" feeling that i get on some skis making large turns at speed. but these were also very nimble and easy to make shorter turns on in tighter areas. the rocker helps greatly when i got into some chopped up stuff, just letting me blast through all the snow in my way.

over all, i was more then pleased with how they performed. y only complaint is that david made me give them back :/ So be exited if your's havent gotten in your hands yet, you will love them!

Just got to ski my 191 wrens at Sugar Bowl today. Here's a mini review


Me: 6' 190 pounds, likes to ski the mountain, usually stays away from the park unless the snow sucks, likes to go fast, bust crud and ski powder.

Conditions: The day had some of everything, in the morning there was powder in some stashes, a few inches on top of crud everywhere else. In the afternoon the snow got heavy and there were small bumps just about everywhere.

Initial impressions: mounted with tyrolia peak 15's. they seemed super long and stiff compared to my 179 seths before I even got on snow. It took a few runs for me to adjust my style to the bigger skis, but once i did I was blown away. I had to put a lot more pressure on my shins than I'm used to, but once I did, they plowed through anything that came at them.

Trees: I hit a few good stashes in the trees which weren't too tracked out. It wasn't amazingly deep but the wrens handled it fine, they can pivot well in soft snow despite their length and were surprisingly nimble through tight spots.

Crud: This is where I was hoping the Wrens would shine, and they certainly did. As long as I wasn't tail gunning it, they blasted through anything that came at them. I instantly felt more comfortable at speed on the Wrens and didn't find a speed limit. I found myself in the backseat at high speed a couple times and was completely out of control. Somehow the Wrens got me back in line and back in control every time, no problem.

Cliffs: I didn't huck anything huge today, but did take a few 5 footers at speed into crud and wow, They stomp the shit out of crud. I might as well have been landing in pow, they smoothed out the landings so much. I have never felt so in control after landing in bumps at speed.

Mank: the snow got really heavy later in the day and the wrens still did great. I usually don't like snow like that, but the wrens made it fun.

Thanks scott and the on3p crew, you made me some great skis.

Finishing this weekend has been dedicated to the last 25 pairs of 176cm BGs which should all go out in the next 24 hours and Jeronimos will be following.  So Jmos, along with a few other skis, will be shipping out all week start tuesday.  With one grinder we are a bit limiited in the number of skis we can finish a day, but things are moving for sure.

I agree with you completely. I was really surprised with the flex. When you hand flex them they don't feel too stiff but when skiing then they feel like a stiff ski. Chopped up snow, crud ect no problem. The tip rocker is perfect, doesn't take away running length but still keeps the tips up really well.

The thing which is really different but amazing about the wren is that they can charge hard, and feel damp at high speeds but are also super lively at slower speeds. Worth the wait for sure.

I've only had a few days on them and they're already one of my favourite skis of all time. Can't wait to get to squaw on Wed to get them on the terrain they were made for.

Once i've had more time on them i'll write a proper review.

im curious, which blue steele people opted for rocker? and why did or didnt you?

i personally didnt cause i dont have a problem butterring normal skis and feel id loose stability on jumps.

i went for the rocker, mostly because i enjoy the way a rocker ski rides and it makes butters(which i do alot) require 0 effort

That's the power of the bamboo / layup that on3p does. it's the illest.

My skis feel so damp and forgiving, but super poppy when I pop off lips , ollie, or pop of of a butter with them.

Plus they really don't feel any different than when I got them, unlike most wood that goes flacid. Maybe on a brand new pair I would feel the difference, but I don't think it would be much.

Somewhat irrelevant, but what is the point of rocker in a park ski? The Alpha 1 (Halo now?) seems to be pretty popular and I know there are a couple other skis out there that are similar...just wondering what the point is?
