4001 base material + actually flat + good structure + hotbox + rotobrush = fast.

171cm people, I expect to set up and start pressing some 171cm pairs this week. As we've said, in the home stretch now and under 50 pairs to go.

But to answer your question, I just use a file, round them down a little. gummi stones take too long to move any metal in my opinion. I'm into more instant satisfaction.

yeah.  don't use a gummi stone.  They're worthless besides getting burrs and rust off of your skis. use a file.. you can get one from a local hardwear store for like $7. 
and don't just wail on your edges with a file.  you do it in a motion sliding the file forward while also moving up the edge of the ski.  I found a video of some dude detuning a snowboard.

but yeah... definitely detune your edges for park skiing at the very least. 
I detune all of my edges a little.  i'm not a racer so even a slightly detuned edge on a brand new ski will hold better than anything i'm used to.

oh okay, i see now. yeah, i used a gummi stone for like 20 minutes at least and it barely took the sharp edge off (i just got new skis)

to say the least i got FUCKED UP on a rails a few times haha

just go lightly with a file. i detuned the whole length with fine stone, and underfoot about a foot above the bindings with a coarse stone.

then did work with a file directly underfoot.

so my skis are supposed to show up tomorrow according to fedex estimated ship time.  but the last update fedex gave me was feb 24 that they were leaving portland oregon and no updates since. should i call fedex? ive been waiting for these skis for over six months i cant afford fedex losing them

I wouldn't worry about it, if they are Fedex airmail then the status won't be updated until they get to another facility.  The facility is likely very close to your house, and Fedex has been very trustworthy in my experience.  Calling them before the date they are supposed to show would be pointless.

Same here, you would think they would make it to another facility in the 5 days they've been shipping.  I just assumed fedex doesn't update for the stops on the way.

fedex doesnt ship over weekends. and they ship fedex ground(my 3 pairs did)

Nothing moves at Fedex over the weekends, which kinda sucks. Give fedex a call tomorrow if they still havent moved, it might just be that they havent updated the tracking so much... I specifically remember tossing Mr Frey and Mr Olson's skis into the actual truck.

took mine out for the first time yesterday... i'll have pictures and a video clip to go along with my complete review in a few days

by far the most fun pair of skis i've ever been on. now my problem is i;'m not going to want to take out any of the other skis in my quiver, not that it's really a problem.

am i correct in  assuming they ski short cause of the rockr, im stuck chosing between the 71 and 181s.. anyone get 171s and wish they went bigger, or visa versa?>?

171's are not out yet, but yes, they might feel a tad smaller due to the rocker. Remember that our sizes measure true tip to tip length, not along the surface of the ski, so our 181's are a bit bigger than most other companies.
