so i just got out of the shower, and what do I see? a fedex truck pulling into my driveway! i ran out, grabbed the box and charged back inside. i think I started to cry a little at the amazingness of these babys. they are everything i could ever have wanted in a ski. the seem fucking huge for how big they actually are, which im glad for. the flex is dead on(stiff), bases are clean, topsheet is smooth and glossy.

Review time: 

So I was able to get a few days in on the 176 Billy Goats on everything from powder to park.  Figured I'd drop a little mini review.  Everyone else has seemed to cover all of the highlights, but it couldn't hurt to give my 2 cents. 

Me: 5'5", 155 or so, decent skier, and had them mounted at 4 cm behind center, which is two centimeters in front of the recommended mounting point.  I chose this point just to lower the swing weight a little for jumps. 

These skis absolutely excelled in powder/trees.  I was previously on the 176 Liberty Helix mounted about 1 cm behind center.  They're normal camber, and it took a lot of work to shred trees for long periods of time.  I felt like I was constantly leaning back to avoid the tips from dipping (mostly because they're mounted so close to center).  With the BG, the rocker and mounting point completely eliminated that feeling.  I could just shred almost like I was on a groomer.  The narrower tail than tip profile lets the tails sink in and just lifts the noses up.  You're in control of your skis and can slash the tightest trees no problem. 

Also, I like the ability to pop off of natural features.  Generally whenever I tried to spin off of something natural that wasn't already packed out I would get pretty caught up.  The rocker in the tips as well as in the tail, and narrower tails made spinning off of natural stuff much easier.  A plus if you're looking for a BC ski that you can haul ass and still jump/spin pretty well. 

As far as skiing switch, it is a little more difficult just due to the shape.  They're very very far from symmetrical both in rocker and dimensions, and they're mounted so far back.  They're controllable, but not something I would want to use for hauling ass switch.  The Caylor should be good for that. 
The BG will be my everyday resort pow ski for when I'm just looking to shred and not too worried about going switch and doing tricks off cliffs. 

On groomers they took a little while to get used to.  The rocker and shorter running length, as well as the minimal sidecut took a little while, but overall they're good.  Afterall... you're not buying them to ski groomers I hope. 

Overall I think they're great.  The graphics are amazing.  The skis themselves seem to be super high in quality... all of the lines are super clean.  Everything is really tight from the base to edge to sidewall contact.  Definitely a high quality set of boards.  

I can't wait to get the Caylors on my feet... I think they're going to change the way I look at the backcountry.   I'll post a short review and hopefully a small edit when I get some time on them.

hey guys, i got my jmos on friday and im gunna get them monuted tomorrow and get my first day on them. can't wait, they look amazing. quick question tho, i assume that the mounting mark on them is the recommended mounting point (aka -3cm), is this correct?

after a day on my C&D here is a little review

my stats:
6'2"
165lbs
16 years old
racer of 9 years
mounted with 916s at recommended

similar conditions to KM as we both live in eastern washington. mostly groomers with some dips in the trees and a few hikes for some untracked/wind blown snow.

Groomers:
I got up to my mountain today, only bringing these so i would be forced to try them in every condition. first off let me say, these are massive, like overly massive, so they were quite intimidating at first. dropping in to the first run i noticed one thing, these do not like to turn on groomers very much due to the lack of much side cut and the contact area with the snow. I was basicly forced to make very large super G turns to keep these on edge the whole way. so trying to make quick turns through large groups of people was a bit of a challenge at the start of the day. But once they were on edge, they felt fine, not quite as stable as my JBS but then again I never expected them to be. Throughout the day they got better and better though, as i adapted to skiing the way they wanted to ski. If I needed to make a shorter turn it was really just a matter of pivoting flat on my base, which is not the best thing to do at speed on a steeper slope. bottom line is that they are skiable on groomers, but i wouldn't want to use these as a daily driver.

Moguls:
I was a bit shocked at how well they performed here, they are by no mean an amazing bump ski, but I didnt feel out of control on the 2 runs i took, pivoting through them was responsive and stable.

Crud/fresh/wind blown:
this is where these bad boys are at home. but really, what else did you expect? they blasted through anything that gets in their way, so lets hope i dont run in to any deer ;). they were able to turn quite quickly in untracked, making tighter trees quite simple. I didnt do any large drops due to the lack of new snow, so the largest was probably only 6ft with a very chopped up landing. Not an issue on these guys, they stomped down very smoothly and shot right through the garbage in the way.

Ill get another review up of some real pow performance once we get some new snow. But as of now, I can see how these will be an amazing pow ski

the review:

i only took them up because i waited so long, i pretty much got to ski groomers, and an un-groomed boilerplate of ice.

shitty conditions, pretty fun skis.

on the super-super hard snow, they performed decently, they do hold edge, but theyre far from a carving ski.
with a little bit of cushion they ski fine, the rocker makes them ski very very short and quick snappy turns were a breeze, when allowed to run straight they were great, this ski loves going fast.

i have no idea how they are in soft snow, there wasnt any to try em out in.

there might be a couple BS reviews in the ON3P cult, tho they didnt have a set flex in testing so take what you will from those. and everyone except one person ordered rocker on this years so you'll have to wait for the reviews on them.

I love my Billy Goats so much! Such an amazing ski, actually had tons of fun with them today skiing rock hard bumps.

My next skis are most likely going to be Jeronimos, I cant even imagine how much fun they will be considering our snowpack.  I'm also excited to hear about the JBS for next season, would love something to put some dukes on.

I know there is a ton of info out there already, but I'll be posting a BG review as soon as I get some time.
