i like watching his videos because his songs feel really intangible, surreal kind of like a dream, and its interesting to see what he does with them.

wasnt super stoked on this one though. how many videos have been made with people partying and popping champagne? i think he could have done a little better, cause he seems pretty creative.

he does his own album artwork right?

yeah at the start when everyone slowed down but he kept the same speed was cool. overall, the conceptualization wasnt that impressive or terribly creative though.

yea, i must agree his songs are deep and they all have point to him. the actual reasoning and thought process of him on this album was actually a dream sequence and all the terrors of dreaming followed by the delight of a new day as seen in the last few tracks. there are many people who find this as a depressing album but i think its delightfully creative. his next album though is suppose to be a fun more upbeat album so keep it stoked.

also cant fucking wait for a few of his new albums and mixtapes

I thought that was cool for a few reasons

1) The song is about trying to use weed/alcohol to fight depression and feel good. That was the deal with him seeing himself at the end - realizing what exactly he's become
2) Thought it was cool how he was in slow motion while everyone else was going fast. It shows how you can be in your own world internally but still give a outgoing front to the world externally. Alternatively it could be Cudi's world is slowed down because he's high. Either way it's a sick effect.
3) Kid Cudi is the man. Totally unique in every way

He doesnt use autotune often if at all. Im pretty sure the "autotune" sound you hear in pursuit of happiness is MGMT singing along with Cudi. Even if he does use it in this song, name one other song were he uses it.

that was absolutely TERRIBLE. I dont think I want to watch another one of his videos if thats what they are like.

How can he write about all this pain, and the pursuit of happiness, then have a whole fucking video dedicated to one of the least fulfilling lifestyles?

I made it most the way through til he started spraying then just stopped it.

Just like Wayne and Kanye, all of you only like Cudi because he's well produced. He can't write lyrics for shit and he relies on autotune which is about as unartistic as it gets. Who cares if he make his own album cover? That's a different type of artists and it doesn't make him a good musician. Put this kind of production behind someone like Chali 2na and you've got a great direction for it.

k, first of all, theres no autotune....anywhere. secondly, saying his lyrics have no substance is bullshit. you have to do some real listening to decipher it, but every song has a message other than fuck bitches get money. i dont see lil wayne coming out with concept albums that actually tell you a story from intro to outro. and the fact he creates all his own album art says a hell of a lot more about him than a lot of people in the "mainstream".

chali 2na really isnt that impressive, either. his voice makes me imagine the chocolate rain kid rapping. his rhyme schemes are simplistic and boring; hes nothing original. i could think of like 200 names to put above his, CuDi being one of them.

your new icon sucks, btw

huh?







i never said anything about this specific song using autotune, he definitely uses it though. sure, his sogns have a greater theme and message to them but the lyrics he uses to portray that message don't impress me at all and neither does his voice/flow. actually, they often make me laugh. we'll have to respectfully dissagree on chali 2na though. maybe it's just me but something about his music just strikes me as unoriginal and unimpressive.

oh, and i know my new icon sucks, NS made me shrink it down so much it lost it's quality. banana or another icon coming soon to replace it.

Mucho Mango you are a fucking idiot. First your autotune argument was wrong because he doesnt have one song on his album or his mixtape with autotune. Second, his lyrics have know substance? Go read some of his lyrics. Heaven at night, man on the moon, soundtrack 2 my life, the prayer, shit anything he has ever made. Day N nite is even a deep dark song.
