Hey guys, long time no post.
We've had a very busy year here at Brimacombe..where? BRIMACOMBE the new identity for the Oshawa Ski Club...or as we have been called in the past Kirby. I won't get too much into the details of the rebranding we went through this summer, other than to say that we are, and will remain a NOT FOR PROFIT business owned by it's members....but fully open to the public. All revenue generated here goes back in this facility for our members and guests enjoyment...there is no single owner. If you are interested in learning about our history, or how we came up with the name check out our story on our webpage http://www.brimacombe.ca/story/history
Enough of the sales pitch.
The point of this post is to let you all know that we have once again stepped up our offerings in the word of terrain parks.
New this year is the addition of our Progression Park, a completely new and separate park aimed at our beginner skiers and riders. This park will feature some of our smaller jibs and rails and help to move some of the younger, less experienced crowd out of the main park.
We have implmented a Park pass program this year for our main park, anyone wanting to use this park will be required to complete our program and purchase a park pass for $10....before you say it...the $10 goes directly back into the operations of the park and this program, and we have had a number of requests from YOU, the user, for a program of this type. At least 6 other Ontario resorts (Escarpment clubs) are implementing a park pass program this year as well....we join the likes of Blue Mountain, and Beaver Valley and a few others who already have this requirement. For more information or to get your Brimacombe Park Pass...follow this link. Brimacombe membership is not required, all park passes are good for the entire season. Park passes will be required for our park competitions.

Park passes are proving to provide a better atmosphere in parks where they are required because the people who are in these parks...have the knowledge and etiqutte to make them a better, more fun place to ski and ride.
One of the first things you'll notice here is the absence of our Half pipe...we buried it this summer. For the last few years we have watched and guaged it's use, talked to our park users, and the concensus was....get rid of it! It has opened up a huge area for another line of jibs, rails or jumps.
We're adding a few new features this year too, Our park manager is putting the finishing touches on TWO giant dance floors....they are about 8 feet wide by 16 feet long each.
Oh...and we started making snow today...the seasons coming,
Cheers,
