Bummed about my bum leg

My post 9 month tib/fib fracture is just a fubar situation. I had a bone scan done about a week ago and the results show some osteomyelitis. I'm going to skiing this weekend with out a doubt, but I will take it easy. Just sucks becaus I might be looking at the possiblity of having a PICC line inserted for IV antibiotics, opening of the site for debridment and having the hardware removed. I have had every single thing go wrong with my first fracture ever. Overall, who knows how this will effect the rest the season and my education. This sucks ass!!! And props to others out there who have similiar garb messing with their ski season. On the bright side, there will be always another season.

One positive is that PICC lines are the best lines to have in you. IV's suck, catheters suck, colostomies are terrible, foley tubes are the very worst. PICC lines are clean, don't hurt and they look cool. Just don't get them dirty obviously.

^Thanks man. Yeah, PICCs are much better and more reliant than Intravenous lines. Foley's are no fun to have or to put in (I had to put a foley in a woman in labor, and she was not skinny :]). Plus, IV antibiotics will act more rapidly and efficiently than the oral antibiotics. I will just be happy when this leg is back in normal order, and I'm willing to do what takes for that to happen.

yea dude i just fractured my fibula down close to the end by my ankle, might not be able to ski till febuary, hope not. +vibes man

February, shit that sucks. Hope it heals sooner than that. Fortunately, the fibula is merely there for extra stabilization and a point for attachment of muscles.  Yeah the hospital had some pretty big pregnant women and left me to wonder whats up with the dudes in that town hahaha.

today while just playing lacrosse for fun, a kid fractured his femur while shooting, he was slightly pushed, but i wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I was turned the other way about 20 yards away and i heard it snap, it was soooo loud that it sounded like a branch breaking. The kid didn't even go into shock, he just fell down and was like oooo shit, call an ambulance. He took it like a champ but he is gonna be out for quite a whil
