Instead of going to college, I’d like to move to eitherMiddle America or the Caribbean to run a business. I’ll use the money I wouldhave spent on college (I have a small bank account that was set up by mygrandmother when I was born that’s looking at about 60 to 70 grand) to purchasea business (I’d hope to find a bar or restaurant) but instead of justimmediately taking over, I’ll work out some deal where I go through a sort of apprenticeshipso that I can learn to run the business effectively. If they want to, I’ll keepthe original owner still somewhat involved in the business (ideally onlycreatively) so that they still feel a part of the business.
With this plan, I’ll be able to live in a part of the worldthat I like, have a business that will allow me to live moderately comfortably, and enable me to live a life that I’m happy with untilI die.
I’m aware that this plan is risky, and could easily backfireso I’m looking for some feedback and suggestions to make this plan more realistic.
