The knockout stages will be over by tomorrow. Who do you guys have winning the whole thing?

I'm really pissed that Marseilles just missed a penalty, but at least Chelsea are still in it.

Ya Inter!  Only caught the end of the match but what a goal by Eto'o!  The red card probably wasn't necessary, but it was hard to tell exactly what happened and at that point it was over anyways.  Anyone else catch the match?

I caught the second half.  Eto'o was the only player out there for Inter, the rest should sign up at their local theater because they are such good actors.  It was ridiculous how much Inter players dove and wasted time, and for the most part the ref was buying right into it.  Oh well, Chelsea wasn't playing that well anyways, and yes, the Drogba red card was unnecessary (yellow at most).  Now I don't know who to cheer for the rest of the tournament.

Quarter Final Draw Announced:
Lyon v. Bordeaux
Man U. v. Bayern
Arsenal v. Barcelona
Inter v. CSKA Moscow

The Man U. and Arsenal games should be fantastic games to watch, specifically the Barca/Arsenal game. They are probably play the most visually aesthetic football of any two clubs. Other peoples thoughts?

tough season for celtic. Yesterday was an embarrassment.

I was actually skiing when i got the text that inter had beaten chelsea, and went fucking nuts right there on the mountain. I love it. Now they just need to fuck up in the league.

Inter got lucky with the draw. Man utd should win, though bayern did already beat them once last summer. I could see maybe a draw at home, but i don't see bayern holding on at old trafford.

I was a little upset to see both french teams drawn together. I think bordeaux could have taken on any team, and lyon is full of surprises it would seem. I'm glad one will be through to the semis, and i'm pulling for gourcuff and bordeaux. It's about time the french teams got their shit together in the CL.

And Arsenal-Barcelona....i'm a huge arsenal fan, and slightly partial to barcelona for various reasons. But fuck them, Arsenal needs it. And they can beat barca, and i think they will. Messi proved against chelsea that with decent defending, he can be shut out. Arsenal is up for the challenge i think. It'll certainly be the best game of the round, and possibly tournament.

nope. French-American actually. Not dutch at all.

I think bayern will end up going through. Lyon will bottle it against bordeaux. Arsenal will go through, as will inter.

From then on out, it's really up for grabs. I would kill for the semis to be bordeaux-bayern, arsenal-cska but i doubt that'll happen.

Barcelona is hopefully going to win it all. Barcelona-Inter final would be the most legit (Eto'o vs. Zlatan), hopefully we don't get a repeat of last years final though.

i hate all italian teams, so they get no love from me...


But France is doing alright for themselves in this one. As many French teams as english teams left which is a huge change from the past. And i remember reading that there's almost double as many french players left in the tournament than any other country. (France had 20, next highest was brazil with 9)

BM 2 - MU1.5

i find the italian league gets a bit boring, but every now and then there will be a good attacking game. just not often enough. and the whole thing seems far too close to corruption at all times

I doubt teams are successful if they go into games expecting to lose, kind of a silly thing to say. I would be confident on a win if I was them too.

well from my experiences when a team is cocky about winning and think they could "walk away" with the trophy, they usually dont perform as well. The team believes that they dont reallly have to do any work and that the win would be handed right to them
It just seems that that was the way ManU was playing the game and why there are usually not very many repeats or threepeats. just my opinion on why they were "cocky"

It's very possible that arsenal could come away with a win at camp nou. Barca will be playing with out piqué and puyol. Terrible news for arsenal though, fabregas will not only not be playing next game but may be done for the season with a broken fibula (fibia?). Arshavin is questionable as well. In my opinion with out injuries arsenal is easily the best team in the world.
