Very very excited for the knock out rounds.

Real Madrid looked good today but they still dont have the necessary team composure and work ethic needed to win it all.

I think the most likely winner is Chelsea who are playing some very good, inspired soccer this year with Barcelona second favorite.

Dark horse for me is Inter Milan...not that they fly under the radar but they typically underacheive in the CL.

Anyways....excited for tomorrow to wrap up with the Young Gunners taking on the Greeks and then to find out what the next draws are.

i've always liked him a lot, it was great to see him come up big on a big stage (even though he should have had 4!)

and did anyone else think obertan played really well? i was very impressed with how he controlled the deep left side for most of the time he was in the game.

The next round was announced today to be played in mid February and March.

Some amazing, absolutely amazing match ups including:

Chelsea vs Inter (return of the 'Special One')

AC Milan vs Manchester United (return of Beckham?)

Bayern vs Fiorentina (going to be an all out goal fest)

Barcelona vs Stuttgart (nasty beat down)

and then of course my tie

Arsenal vs Porto (which will likely be one of the more competitive matches until Arsenal terrorizes them at home).

Lyon of Real Madrid - big upset though I'll be surprised if Madrid doesn't flip the score line at home and advance.

AC Milan losing, justifiably, to Manchester United.

Rooney is a beast...that's all i can say about that match....well that and Ronnie isn't back, but he's certainly close!

I really think it will be barca and chelsea in the finals. Barca is my team so i gotta go with them. They just possess too well for most teams to get a chance to score. Chelsea (and atletico as it was evident on sunday) are the only teams that i can see scoring against them, i mean the atletico loss was barca's first this year. They are just an all-around solid team.

i have to disagree with a earlier post. i dont think milan lost reasonably (maybe on paper, but not how the game went). manu hadnt that many scoring possibilities but made the best out of them. milan missed some key shots that could have decided the thing earlier.

real was nice to see. its like that in every sport. no team has ever won a game on paper. you have to come out and play. they are lucky to come out lyon with only one goal against them. but if lyon goes into this hell of bernabeu and somehow withstands the expected rage and is able to get ONE DUMB goal, real will need 3 goals in aggregation and this could be too much.

tomorrow bayern, i hope they clash florence. they need a motivation boost. its always like "yeah, were good, but this year is too early,blabla". a good game against florence and you can beat anyone whos up next.

Granted Milan had a number of good chances I still think the score line was reflective of the game.

Manchester United dominated possession from the last 10 or so minutes of the 1st half through the 80 minute.

Rooney could have scored another too so Milan weren't the only ones creating chances.

Doubt Milan have a chance now.

Real Madrid is going to get it if Lyon scores...but I'd be surprise to see it happen...and even if it does I could still see Madrid scoring 3.

Finally....hoping for my boys Arsenal to overcome their injuries and play well tomorrow. Looking for a score draw or at least an away goal.

as half german i liked stuttgart against barcelona. they showed a lot of heart of ran their asses off. barca is not this uberteam everyone would like it to be. anything can happen at this stage.

if u can get online, you can watch it. get tvuplayer or sopcast, both free, and both stream most premier league/ champions league matches. the channel "soccer" on tvu player is literally a broadcast of Fox Soccer Channel.

hate to say it, but i don't see it happening for them. Beating Barcelona at the nou camp is arguably the hardest thing in football right now.

I'm of course hoping for the best for arsenal...

I think Bordeaux should be through, which is fantastic because being french, i love seeing them do well. I especially love gourcuff so it's good to see him playing at this level.

And i'm really really hoping that inter ruin chelsea. Don't really imagine that happening though...

lets take it like this: i wouldnt bet on stuttgart, but its the same as lyon vs. real madrid:

ONE LUCKY GOAL, free kick or corner, maybe even a penalty or whatever and barca/real has got a problem. if you play soccer actively you know that one goal can happen quite fast

one time he fielded a kickoff at midfield, its hard to explain, but they replayed it cuz it was technically brilliant.

hes very good, fast and technically good but he has a long way to go. he seems like those one of a dozen kids every year that show flashes of greatness but never make it to world-class level
