UPDATE:
Quote from Hidden Valley
"The current cold weather is providing some excellent snowmaking conditions,
and Hidden Valley Resort plans to open the slopes for the season on Friday,
December 11, 2009 and remain open through Sunday, December 13. Hours for the
opening weekend will be 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The resort will close the slopes
December 14 through December 17, and reopen Friday, December 18 for the season.
Hidden Valley is also pleased to offer
FREE skiing again this year. All guests
on Sunday, December 13 can receive a complimentary ski ticket by donating two
canned food items. The food will be used to help those in need. All
contributions will be given to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and
the Community Action Partnership for Somerset County, Tableland Services, Inc.
Guests will need to get a complimentary ski ticket at the ticket sales window.
Ski tickets on Sunday, December 13 will cost $10 without a canned goods donation
with the proceeds benefiting the local food banks.
Ski or snowboard rental
equipment and lessons will be available this weekend at discounted rates. Hidden
Valley’s rental shop will be offering new Elan Skis for $15 and Atomic
snowboards for $20. Dining will be available at the Ski Lodge Express,
The Yukon
restaurant,
The Clock Tower Restaurant and the new
Black Diamond Pub & Grill and Falling Leaf restaurant.
Glaciers Lounge will also be open."
I guess free skiing isnt bad at all, no matter how bad the slopes are
