Galvanized steel piping to wood supports?

Alrighty, so as previously posted, my super sturdy rail that i spent so long building had an accident - the pvcs done for. So tomorrow I'm going to go to home depot and buy galvanized steel piping in a 1" diameter and replace the pvc with the steel pipes, but there's 3 problems with this.

Problem number one: How in the world do I attach them to the wood supports?

problem number two: They are only sold up to 10 feet long at home depot. My wooden support thing is 15 feet long, would the method of cutting and attaching work like done in the tutorial (just with the steel)

Problem number 3: how heavy is galvanized steel? The Wooden supports could easily support my body weight, but exactly how heavy are these pipes going to be?

The pipes weight will not be a problem. Im not sure what the tutorial method you are talking about is. One way i have attached metal is to rip old pvc in half and then attach it to the support. The steel pipe then sits in the pvc. You can use something like liquid nails to attach it to the pvc or just count on friction.

My friend has a hill in his backyard. Good to sesh in winter during the week. We stole similar pipe from a random place but they are all like 3 inch and we just put up three post for each one with fence spikes and 4x4s.

My way may not be applicable in your situation but it may give you inspiration to do something that will work for you. We cut out a V into each 4x4, so the pipe fits in nicely then we would predrill up either side through the wood into the metal. youll want a good drill bit. then get metal screws and put them in so that the threads catch the hole but don't have to make it bigger, in other words the screws fit easily and just tighten it.

cut the pvc in half length wise. So you have two half pipes. Then just screw the half pipe down. The metal can just sit in that. But pre drilling and screwing from the bottom works also. Drilling into metal can be a real pain in the ass though.

what me and my roommate came up with was drilling a whole through the pipe in a few spots along the rail and then running wire through the holes and tightening it around whatever wood base plates/legs ur using... it worked really well
