In Need of help

i am trying to cut down the poles of my K2 V8's but getting the grips off is a pain. i have tried a heat gun, hot water, vice and trying to pry it but nothing.

can anyone help me.

i have searched for these poles and nothing

Try boiling water, not just hot.

You could also try the door technique - Simply open the door and put the grip in between the and the door frame on the side so the door closes towards you (so you have to pull the door closed) then grab pole and pull while twisting. It always works for me., but to be on the safe side look and see if there are any screws (there's probably a screw on top of the grip to hold the strap, it shouldn't matter, but you can take it out anyways) if you see any take them out and give it a try.

boiling water, and get two people and pull hard. You are just not pulling hard enough I guess.

ok thanks. ya i was trying and they are super duper glued. almost like they dont want you to cut them.

boiling water will expand it right. will they still fit back on??

boiling water..let them sit in there until you can get it off.. the grip on my poles would not come off and i tried evrything..so i just let them sit in boiling water and eventually they came off..so just try that..im sure it will work

i just ran my grips of my scott poles under hot water from my sink for like 20 seconds (no boiling) and then pulled at them and they came right off it was really easy..

BTW, don't just pull, you have to TWIST the pole while you pull.

if that doesn't work try catching your local hill's shop on a slow day and there's a good chance they'll chop em down for you, free.  I've been lucky a few times, maybe get em a coffee, soda, or blunt

thread jack/ just bought 5 dollar poles with no baskets. how would i go about taking baskets off of old poles and putting them onto new ones?
