Salomon SPK Kaos 08, Pain in the ankle

I have a pair of Salomon SPK Kaos 08, and after I've had those on my foot for a bit I get a lot of pain in the ankle on my right foot. I know these shoes are known for these problems and I hoped that I could get some tips. Is there anything I can do about it.

1. are you in the correct shell size?
2. do you have some sort of footbed?

it depends were the pain is like the back or the ankle or the front but you could get the shell pushed out by your local ski shop

it's like on the side of the foot. I don't know how i could explain this but do you understand if i say it's the bump on the right side on my right foot.

I don't have any special footbed/sole if that's what you ment.
I think have the correct shell size. The store that i bought the shoe pick out the correct size for me.

I have not had problems with the shoe before this season. I bought the ski boot at the beginning of the season last year

So it's the outside of your right ankle? (medial is the inside of your foot, lateral is the outside).  If it's the lateral part of your ankle, there's a good chance that all you need is a footbed.  Your ankle goes through a lot of motion if it's not properly supported in your boot.  Once you properly support your foot, your foot will be in the correct position inside the shell.  Once your foot is correctly position, then your boot-fitter (depending on what he/she sees) can grind away plastic or add certain pads to alleviate your discomfort. 

If you are in the correct size and the SPK is a good shape for your foot, it sounds like this might be the way to go.
