Looking for footage from a GoPro HD shooting lifestyle shots
Anyone know the links to any non-action sport footage shot on a gopro hd camera? I've seen bits and pieces in other edits but I'm curious to see how the wide angle lens does in recreational settings (indoor, lifestyle, scenery, etc).
I call BS on that test, there is no way the gopros very small single chip produces better colors than a 3 chip sensor system. I think that video was manipulated in post/in camera.
Sorry, but I think this might be real. I dont know about the GoPro footage, cuz I have nothing to comparise with, but the XHA1 footage looks pretty legit. I own one, and the footage at standard settings is pretty low on contrast and the color don't stand out at all. What makes it a great camera is what you can get out of with a set of skilled hands and some customisation.
The best feature of the XH-A1 is the custom Presets which allows you to customize color tables. If you want to make something look dull and dreary you can. If you want shit to POP like crazy you can.
It's "real" meaning they didnt touch anything on the xha1 (which only a noob would do) and then did a ton of post work with the gopro shit to market it, there is no way the gopro has better colors than even a stock untouched xha1, its impossible.
What I like is the fact that the GoPro has revy good real resolution and sharpness and decent low light and the fact that I can do some grading in post and it will look like a $5000 camera. That being said, the colors are surprisingly good out of the box as I can vouch for. But I think you're correct in saying that it has at least had some post work.
I shot some lifestyle a few weeks ago (some flags blowing and water dripping off gutters in the sunlight - the typical. I might edit some of it together and try to make an edit. I hate vimeo non plus because it takes like 2 hours to get something online when I can have something on youtube in 12 minutes in HD and processed. Only problem is if i upload a crappy little thing all my subscribers will get notified! eff.
