Hoigaards hookin up some good service

had a miscommunication with their techs this summer when having my skis mounted and noticed them 6 cm from where i wanted them last night. was planning on riding somewhere this weekend so panicked and took them in this morning and they were cool and are remounting them for free AND having them done by tomorrow morning even though they are swamped with other stuff.

service there is cool and would recommend.

i guess i should rephrase cause it did get messed up to begin with, "would recommend if you have time to go back and complain nicely"

ive got binders mounted there twice and it was like i was talking to a monkey trying to get them mounted true center, do people really have no clue what true center is?

Chris Jones has been bustin his balls over at the lazy H getting all the old farts up to speed. Things have really improved this year. I am no longer affiliated with them but things are lookin' up at the H finally.

at tent sale they had tags on all the twins to tell the guys in the shop where to mount i was like "HOLY BALLS!!!! ABOUT EFFIN TIME!"

i really shoulda noticed the miss-mount before i walked out of there but it was august so i was just excited to be carrying skis around sooo i'm an idiot. other than REI what are some other shops that do ski work around here that would be recommended?

i agree that rei is not a ski shop. it's kinda like going to kmart to buy a TV. they have TV's but it isn't a good decision on any level but. i moved up here somewhat recently and hoigaards is the first place i've gone and the story of that is ^.  are there any shops that are less tha an hour from the TCs that haved consistent quality work?

Hoigaards is good with everything BUT freestyle equipment and tuning. They didn't even know what size poles my son should have. I've got to get out to Pinewskis very soon, as I've been told by many it is the only place to go for freestyle equipment or let touch your skis

He should use whatever size feels right. I'm supposed to use a 48-50 but I use a 38.

On the subject of Skis Will, I'm looking to get Allison her first pair of Twin Tips. Where should the skis come up to her, near her eyebrow line? This will be her first year with Nybora, so any other suggestions for skis would be appreciated. She's thinking she wants Soloman, I wonder why ha! Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask:)

Uhmmm....Line skis, alright then, I'll look into that. That's what Allen rides right? Is Salomon not a good choice for her age/level of skiing? What about Roxy?

Oh, and I wanted to make a plug for REI. Last spring, I guess it was in Feb. I bought myself a new pair of K2 Burnin Luvs with the bindings......on sale for only $460!!! I've seen them at Hoigaards recently for $900, and just today at Sports Hut for $1,200!!! I realize I got them on sale, but still, REI is a good store IF you know what you are looking for.
