JEA It looks like the Valley will begin making snow tonight as the temps drop into the thirties. Finally, all this rain and warm temps gave us a wait, but they plan on opening next weekend on the 10th. Who will be there? So stoked to ride some hill, Snowpark Niagara has been holding it down for the pre-season. Now its time to really get the shred on!!
"We're ready to start making snow tonight, as long as the forecasted temperatures come true. Let's hope the lake effect bands park on top of Holiday Valley! Possible opening on Thursday, Dec. 10...stay tuned for more info.
Cold air across Lake Erie will set up moderately favorable conditions for lake effect snow showers - especially during the nighttime hours. Winds will be varying a bit, so even when heavier bands do set up, we're not likely to be under them all the time. Even so, upwards of 6-10" is possible higher up by the weekend, with additional snowshowers possible Saturday and Sunday. Good snowmaking temperatures at night for the next week.
