Ha, I watched them blow all night the a few days ago... and then watched 95% melt in the rain and 55+ temps over the next few days.  Still a couple piles here or there, but  not going to open this weekend for sure.

its open now...but i'm sure the conditions arent very good with this rather warmish weather were currently getting. also supposed to rain tomorrow.

I put in a few hours at Blue today. The snow was exactly what you'd expect after a full day of nonstop rain and mid-40's.

The setup is pretty nice: butterbox, urban down stock, rainbow and barrel jib, then an up/down, and a few jumps. Nice setup, hopefully they'll get a chance to groom it out and smooth'er over when it gets cold again.

Well we all now know that they're open...but anybody got predictions on the Valley opening? It's a different mountain without the 6 chair open. I'll be up Friday (tomorrow) morning. It's a longshot, but I'm hoping for a few longer trails out there.

Anybody know how it is, do they have like a smaller/medium jump line or something? Going somewhere on monday, maybe to blue.

i was gonna do a gopro runthrough of the park today but i got lazy and didnt do it. here's the rundown, top to bottom:

urban flatstock down rail
barrel bonk hitching post kinda thing or rainbow rail
a frame rail or flat box
10 foot jump
15 foot jump

from what i've been told, lower park should be opening saturday, and central park not long after that. central park will be two staircases, first one is a c rail on the left, single barrel in the center, c box on the right. second set is a dfd rail, down rail, and down box. third feature set is 40 foot down rail or 40 foot down box, not associated with a staircase. don't hold me to that, but that's what i've been told. i'm guessing lower park will be one small dumb jump, the 8 foot flat box, the mini rainbow box, probably the mailbox, and maybe small wallride, just judging on what's been in there in past years. things should be looking nice by monday.

yeah comearound has been pretty good these past few days. And by the looks of it sidewinder should open soon. they've been blowing for a while on it.

Almost bump...

Went to blue today, I was the kid on orange chronics with poles that have like 5 orange stripes on the bottom trying to butter the rollers and failing hard. Black pants, gray coat, gray helmet and white goggles. Anybody see me?

There was a decent amount of soft snow, but it was kinda heavy and easy to hook in. They have that 25 foot-ish jump which looks decent. In the park next to it there are 2 small jumps, an up-flat-down, a very sticky flat down that made disasters dangerous, a really fat ledge (don't know the proper name) and I think that's it. The park closer to the top had the barrel jib, a rainbow rail, a down urban rail I stayed away from, 2 small jumps, a flat box and I think that's it.

There is one slope that has all these small, on trail jumps on the right and pretty much the entire mountain had some small lumps of snow and natural stuff to get jibby on. Pretty fun if you aren't in the park. That park that's normally near the top next to the lift is still closed but they were blowing snow.

Overall, it was fun as any day of skiing should be, I'd go back tomorrow if I had the chance.

Just called to see if Sidewinder will be opening anytime soon. I was told they go "day to day," which of course makes no sense since a park is something that has to be actively built, but I'm sure the nice lady didn't know that.
Anybody go up today and see if any progress has been made?

probably this weekend. i was told they started pushing stuff around, so i guess they've got enough snow now? i need something bigger than that tiny stepover. it was fun for a week or so though.

i was up there today justin and they took everything out of the lower park to blow snow on it. they were blowing snow on central as well. they did start pushing around snow on sidewinder this morning.

I'm glad they're making tons of snow and I'm sure the park will be sick when it's done. Here's my issue though: last year they closed with TONS of snow on Sidewinder. So if there's no drive to stay open late anyway, I'd rather them open it a little earlier so we can all get more use of it on this end of winter.

the amount of snow on sidewinder has been kinda deceiving. there was a ton up top and at the bottom, but in the middle where the jumpline is, there was not that much due to how windy it's been. they didn't have nearly enough snow to build the kind of jumps they want, regardless of how much extra snow they had top and bottom, they didn't want to have to drive the cat all over the whole trail and farm snow from a quarter mile away to build jumps. i guess i'm glad i'm hitting bear tonight while everything at blue is being rebuilt.
