Bought these at the start of summer, used them today for about 6hrs
lapping the park. Got to my car and woah, huge rocker on one ski! I
know skis de-camber over time but this is not normal. I wasn't even
thrashing them as it was the first time i had used them!!
40/20 rocker!

BTW you don't happen to know if the dry slop in High Wycombe has features do you? I'm always asking British people on here but no one ever answers me. I know someone that lives by it but he doesn't ski so he doesn't know. I go every summer so I was thinking about trying to hit up a bunch of the dry slopes next year and thats the only one I have a free place to stay near.
210lbs, DIN set to 11, maybe im doing it wrong.
I learnt to ski at High Wycombe. They didnt have features when i raced there 10years ago but may well do now. I ski at the indoor slope at Castleford. THURS/FRI nights they get the park out. You can surf my couch if you want.
Honestly i dont know. I like butter!? I think that is where they gave out to be honest. It's not a huge deal and i dont want to pay 100bucks to get a new pair. Its just really annoying!! Wheres the quality control. The layers have slipped which means a de-lam is imminent.
wait wait wait... they have racing in the UK? Bahahahahaha do the races last like 10 seconds? thats even more unbelievable than racing programs in the midwest
no, your not doing anything wrong, you are just to heavy for the ski. Soft skis rocker with too much weight. If you can warranty them try and see if they'll send you chronics instead - they'll work much better.
yes we do have racing. It's slalom and it's shit but it's all we got boys. I wont complain, it made me the skier i am today and apparently i am good enough to fuck up a shit hot park ski. I will try for warranty but i got them in the US so im gonna have to pay a shit load for shipping which sucks balls. Will try and see if my rep can help me out.
Well, shit I am 200 and I got the Spirals. Of course, I bought them when I was recovering from my tib/fib fracture and only weighed 164 at the time (I was 176lbs before the fracture but lost pounds from the hospitalization). The crappy steroids for a respiratory complication and not being able to exercise really did a number to my weight. Fuck, I hope mine don't go this direction. I did register them when they were purchased, so does that count as the warranty for the ski?
hey dude, I'm in the UK too and have had a warranty issue with Volkl and Moment. and so I know the position you are in. My advice is get in touch with Line Skis UK first. Chances are if it was your first day out on them, they'll help you out no questions asked really. I mean in general they wont want to warranty skis from the US but, a) you can't get that model in the uk, and b) the case is so clear cut for a warranty i doubt you will have a problem. In my case Volkl Uk were having none of it and Moment didn't have a UK office.
If this fails contact the shop in the US you bought them from by email with pictures and a full story. If you send them this pic then they will most likely warranty them for you without you sending them in. Brand new skis that are broken are the easiest warranty candidates in general. In my Volkl case, untracked.com warrantied the skis for me after Volkl being really reluctant to talk to me in person. Major props to untracked.com and I won't be buying Volkl again because of my experience.
With Moment, I contacted them directly and I did have to send the skis in but then they were legit as hell. Apparently the tech had got the mount wrong and then also messed up the helicoils so even the helicoils pulled out. Despite this Moment were amazing. They sent me a brand new pair of Rockers pre-helicoiled for my bindings and didn't even charge me for shipping them to me, even though the fuck up wasn't theirs. If it comes down to it, get in touch with Line and send them your skis. But just always be clear that its gonna cost you a load to send the skis back in and since the photos make the problem clear then I don't think you will need too.
Cheers for you advice dude. Im glad im not the only one with the problem.
I think you are right about the warranty but im just concerned about the shipping cost. Like you say tough, i may get away with not sending them back. Also im pretty sure they cant replace them as they only made 400 in this size. I think they would have to offer a substitute. That may also lead to not having to send them back.
HAve already e-mailed line so will see what they say. Hopefully they are cool about it and see my problem and hook me up with a new pair at no cost. If they come back being all butt-hurt then ill contact sierra-skis where i bought them from. Just need to did out all the e-mail receipts!
lines legit, they should help you out. you probably broke the core. at 200lbs it wouldn't be hard. i like soft skis myself but i think you should have a little stiffer ski at that weight. you should still be able to butter on another ski.
and racing in the UK or other sub 20sec run places is such good training. buck hill, MN has been named one of the best places in the country to train. slalom runs there are like 18seconds. its all about repetition. 2 hours of training a night and you're toast. arms are shot from the rope tow, and legs are shot from skiing 40+ runs. multiple US ski team and olympic athletes have come from there.
Well, good news. LINE UK have told me to take em to my shop and get them sent in for warranty assessment. Which is good but i reckon they will deny the warranty, the edges are all bevelled from 3 or 4 rails i have hit. Anyway, that's not why im posting.
the reason im posting is because when took the binders off i found out that one of the heel pieces was off centre by about 5mm. WHAT THE FUCK! Now im pissed! You can also see where two holes have been started another few mm over. Jokers.
No worries. Do you have experience in warranty then? What qualifies for a warranty. I hardly used these skis and their all rockered and shit. Im worried they will deny on account of burred edges indicating rail slides. Thats what the skis for though aint it?
