Your definition of cold.

. . . as in being uncomfortable skiing or riding. I'm looking at the weather reports from CO right now, and it's downright glacial. -25 C in Keystone, with -32 C (-26 F) windchill.

-25 C (-13 F) in Jackson Hole, with a predicted high of -14 C (7 F).

How cold is too cold for you?

i was talking F though.

Realized that people are in different places.

0 C is 32 F right?

Well on the east coast I would say below 0 F (not including wind chill), but in utah I get grumpy when it goes below +15 F... then again "too cold" here means you have to wear a jacket to go skiing. excluding pow days it can be as cold as it wants on pow days.

Was at Loon one time, -15 without windchill. Was mad icy so we went to the car for morning beers. I open my coors light bottle, and have a few sips. Then all of the sudden my brew erupts! I'm pretty baffled at first, but then I realize it froze minutes after I opened it. We sat in the jeep for the next beer, it was the most delicious refreshing ice cold beer I have ever had. Pretty cold day

living in fraser, CO, the coldest city on avg on colorado, then leaving your house at 6:30 every morning to go work on the highest lift at MaryJane, then riding up your lift for 20 min instead of 8 becuase its so fucking windy the lift is on auto-slow the whole time. then you get to the top, where theres no electricity and the propane heater doesn't work because the wind blows the pilot light out every time it gets lit. then you sit up there for 4 hours until the mountain manager finally decides the lift wont open that day. thats fucking cold.

i ski one of the coldest resorts on the east, so i see some damn cold days. I think below 0 is somewhat cold, bue here the wind really gets us. i see wind chills of -10--40 depending on the day. That shit gets so cold

Early last year, we were skiing at Big Mtn in Montana, and the temps hit  -30F and below depending on how hard the wind was blowing. Pretty damn cold.

I'd say that it becomes totally uncomfortable at a sustained -40F.

usually above 17F is fine for me
10-16 is cold
and below 10 is miserable... like 3 runs and I'm over it miserable.
I love skiing when it's warm even if it's really slushy.

Im fine till about -10 F with no wind. Or 0 F with wind. Which last year here in wisconsin, their were some days where it was sub -20. When it gets their, i just make sure everything is all covered up, and im usually good to go.

Well its 60 here in NY...

Cold for me is like around 15f... anything below that is pretty cold for skiing, but it doesnt really make a difference to me, I just layer up

probably the best time ever i had skiing was a weekend that it never got warmer than -10 F.  Just bundled up and threw down for the best time ever.

worst part is the chair lift.

and oh ya when the wind is blowing super hard and all the snow is blown off to the sides revealing bulletproff ice. That sucks

I don't have a problem with the cold, I can just wear an extra fleece, but eventually I find the skiing isn't even fun. Skis just don't slide very well at those temperatures. One day we went last year, it was -35 C, before accounting for windchill, and I was warm, but it felt like I was about to go over the bars the whole time. After 3 runs, we called it quits. We were bummed, because the snow was really good and almost no one was there.

-16f and probably -25f windchill at this tiny hill called otis ridge last season. The locals gave us bubble blowing solution and told us to go outside and blow bubbles. They froze in midair and shattered like glass.

In minnesota last year got down to - 40, thats when its real hard to ski just cause the wind cuts through you and even if you have a faceguard it freezes....

I once skied in a -67 F wind chill. That was cold. Everything else is just brisk in comparison.

I can usually handle up to -25 C, anything colder i complain. If its colder than -30 i hesitate to even go out.

i dont really have a set temperature, i get really uncomfortable when my feet get really cold likke to the point where they hurt, it usually doesnt happen untill atleast -25 ish but if ive got foot warmers or really good socks(which i cant find if anyone knows any please tell me thanks) but yeah i can stand pretty much any thing but cold feet

Same here basically. Actually only -60 wind chill maybe a little less in the gusts.

But still. That was frosbite central. I wrapped up like a mummy. You'd get blow across the ice toward the woods. It was ridiculous. You couldnt even ride.

One time i was in tremblant and it was -35 when I got on the hill. It eventually warmed up to -20 but the wind was hauling. I was only able to do a few runs and then I had enough especially after they stopped one lift for about ten minutes.

It got down to -44 at loveland last year. Complete white out. 2 runs, go in and warm up, 2 runs, warm up and so on. When it gets that could however, it's almost like a test of manliness to see how long you can stay out haha.

Otherwise, bitter stale cold doesn't bother me too much, but once the wind comes in to add to it, thats when shit gets cold haha.

when I lived in the yukon it got to -40C.  that's not even in the mountains.

Hills will close before I refuse to ski. I did -35 with windchill last year. Couldn't hit rails because the wind would blow you off lol. Got kind of annoying so we had a mini pipe sesh.

-14 if its windy and snowy, -18 if there is little wind and no snow. coldest i've skied in is about -25 C, my fucking boot cracked when I tried to take it off in the gondola to thaw my foot.
