Babysitter gets 125 years

Can you believe this :
A 24 year old babysitter from Indiana is going to sit in jail for 125 years for having sex with children as low as 2 months old and videotaping it. Her excuse was that she felt miserable because her boyfriend broke up with her. She is going to cost U.S. taxpayers a shitload of money. I mean you get a fifth of that time for 1st deg. murder. That judge is fucking nuts. What do you guys think?

in montana hanging is still legal, you just cant be more the i believe three hundred and fifty pounds (if any more you decapitate your sefl) i think that should be done... rope doesnt cost much at all and just find a good bridge. save a few hundred thousand dollars

thats way too harsh, yeah its fucked up, but whats more fucked up is that she has a harsher punishment than murder.  i dont care who you rape and how, its not worse than ending someones life. going to jail for your entire life is fucked, shit i couldnt imagine going for 5 years, that would fuck your life up.   thats enough time to completely change somebody.
personally i think 10 or 15 years seems fair, without knowing the details.

You could get a worse sentence for dog fighting than murdering someone.

She def need to get some jail time, but 125 years?

She could have robbed a couple banks, and killed a few people, including a baby and faired better than that.

I agree. More details would be great. I mean, she touched her OWN child the wrong way, who is only 2 months old (female)....so fucked up.

And the article says she did it WITH her boyfriend, not because her boyfriend broke up with her. They're both mentally unstable. What happens to him? Everyone is talking about only her.

If you ever get into a bad situation where you run out of money and can't pay for anything, do a small crime that will get you in jail for like 30 years.  Free health care, warm living space, 3 meals a day, the works.  Haha my dad jokes about doing this if he ever goes bankrupt.  Just hold up a Henny Penny with a fire arm and shoot the ceilings a few times.  That should get you some good quality living years.

Anyway, this is a fucked up case.  She could have found horny ass teenagers to fuck.  Unless she was fat and ugly.  And what did she get charged for?  I don't think you can get 125 on one charge.

i think this is a part of society that is flawed. if you have a sentence that is 125 years...i highly doubt she is going to ever get out...death sentence would save the country so much more...

but it doesnt matter to me cause its the states who are paying, and Canada doesnt have the death sentence anyways

no it wouldn't, death penalty costs more than an entire life sentence. And for everybody talking about hanging, firing squad, ect. as a cheaper method, think for a bit. It is not that injection that costs so much. It is the multiple appeals that the state needs to pay for (including jury, both lawyers, judge, various other court fees), having an entire execution staff available, the list goes on and on. The cost of that injection is nothing compared to all of the legal fees.
Sparknotes: death penalty is not cheaper than a life sentence (and I don't think that either is exactly appropriate for this crime, this judge is trying to make an example out of her)

Im sure you could find someone in the US who would be willing to kill some people just for the Heck of it. And not being paid. That said, 125 years in my mind equals death penalty. SO just put a bullet in her head. And you will be done. BUT if it's like everything else in this world. She will be out in 40-50 years...

And that is just wrong. plain wrong.

Ooh and, how did the parents of the child found out she had sex with the baby? At 2 months, baby's don't talk. Maybe the parents walked up on her.. haha (Sorry for my sick mind. But that would be way too funny) And they saw her naked with the baby's leg up in her!

We just covered the death penalty in my government class so I feel the need to educate people on the death penalty as it is in the United States.


Furhman vs Georgia:
This Supreme Court case re-instated the death penalty after Gregg vs Georgia outlawed it based on how it was in violation of the 8th Amendment. However, for a state to use the death penalty they have to meet three requirements:

1.)Have to use a bifurcated trial process during which the defendant must be found guilty of "Aggravated 1st degree murder". What this means is they must first be eligible for 1st degree murder with very serious aggravating circumstances. Forms of aggravating circumstance include but are not limited to; torture of the victim, multiple victims, desecration of the corpse (ie dismemberment), killing children, or killing cops. Now, what it means by bifurcated trial process is that it has to have a 2 part trial. A guilt and innocence phase and a phase to decide the penalty which for aggravated 1st means either Life with no possibility of parole or the death penalty.

2.)Immediate appeal review of all death penalty cases. This means the appeal process which can take years and years. Very expensive.

3.)It must meet some form of proportionality. Meaning, like in WA state, since the Green River Killer confessed to 43 murders (can't remember the exact number) in order to avoid the death penalty, technically, the next person eligible for the death penalty here in WA would have to kill and mutilate 50-60 people to even qualify for it.

i said 10-15, thats a long fucking time. if it was my baby id probably be flipping shit and want to fuck her whole life up, but thats cause nobody can think straight at all after a situation like that, and neither would i, id be flipping shit.  people fuck up sometimes and do horrible things, it doesnt always make them a bad person, everybody fucks up bad atleast once in their life, usually alot more.  in this case yes id say she is a bad person, but she could easily change, and i think 10 or 15 years in jail would easily do that.

Maybe try and ..................oh I don't know ...........................read the article with the details of the story. She performed acts on these kids, while bf video taped. Very screwed up couple I guess. The youngest victim was HER OWN DAUGHTER.

Screw our lame death sentence laws, if you have concrete evidence of someone breaking laws why the hell do you need to give them a chance to appeal??

Bill Of Rights. Can't remember which Amendment but you are allowed a "fair trial" and that includes being allowed to appeal a decision.
