Re mounting bindings

I just bought a pair of twin tips and the bindings are mounted back from center at like standard position or whatever. I wanna have them remounted to dead center, I could do that right even though there's not a mount point there? Can someone help me out I don't really know much about this kinda stuff

What you need is:

Drill
Drillstop
Measuring tape
Something to mark your skis with
Two-component plastic glue (epoxy)
Some sort of Template

First of all, decide where you want to have your bindings placed. Under your boot there will be a small marking and when that marking is in the middle of your ski (length/2) that's where your binding should be mounted.

Lets say you got your ski core center mounted (it's a measurement for where the middle of the core is) and it's usually a couple of centimeters behind true center (3-5) then you take a measuring tape and make markings lets say 3 cm ahead of all the wholes (even better if you have a plastic piece that your bindings is mounted on use that as a template) and then drill your new holes. Make sure that you check how deep they should be, and how wide you should drill (DO NOT DRILL WIDER THAN THE STANDARD HOLE, THEN YOUR NEW BINDING WONT ATTACH CORRECTLY).

Drill your new holes, plug the old ones with your two-component glue (consists of glue and hardener).

Actually, the two component plastic glue is really the only one that will ensure the strength of your otherwise weakened ski. A standard glue will just plug the holes, but the material when it hardens wont be the same as the ski, with two-component glue it hardens to a plastic substance and it leaves minimal weakening from the old holes.

When you have your new holes drilled, mount your binding. If you are sure that you're not going to remount, plug your new holes with glue also, to make sure the bindings will last and wont break from the new holes that might not be as good as the ones a ski-shop drill. I usually throw some glue in my new holes and when it hardens you wont have to be afraid of your binding separating from your ski in a tough overshoot landing!

you're gonna get this done at a shop right?

If you want them centered, measure out where center is by measure the entire length of the ski and dividing by 2, then make a mark with washable marker, use that mark to draw a line and then take them to the shop and say "this is where I want them mounted". There you go.

If you are new at this, don't do it by yourself. Take it to a shop that knows how to mount twins. Are the skis symmetrical or non? I'm not the biggest proponent of mounting non-symmetrical skis dead center because for starters the ski wasn't designed for it. But whatever, you see people do it all the time. Figure out how often you are going to be in the park vs. all mountain skiing. Typically, if you are 90% park 10% all mountain mount your stuff 1cm back from chord center. If you are more 50/50%, mount them 3-4cm back of center. Those are the recommendations I would go off of.
