theyre made with carbon fiber. pretty much just for athletes that have the money and want to forget that they are even wearing anything. the aluminum ones are $1,500...

im still hoping that its a typo.
i can see carbon fiber sunglasses running around $400 with the oakley logo on it

No they dont.  The golfclubs arent really tungsten.  They are just some sort of shitty alloy.  Tungsten is the hardest metal really in existence.  It is expensive to manufacture and work due to its extreme hardness.

tungsten is the colour im pretty sure. not sure why they would put tungsten in a pair of carbon sunglasses, it is one of the heaviest non-radioactive metals. It's also very difficult to manufcture because its one of the hardest metals and has the highest melting point of all metals.

The Oakley C Six Sunglasses are individually machined from block carbon fiber, machining hours for the glasses are around 70 hrs per pair of glasses....

The glasses also have a mult point radial hinge along with HDO polarized lenses for better fit and vision and are packed in Oakley's elite case.



All in all, you arnt paying 4000 for a pair of glasses....you are paying 4000 for a status symbol

Kinda like buying a 12000 carbon road bike or a 1,000,000 car..... all overpriced dumb and expensive, but...they are made cuz people will buy them. haha..

i had some oakley training at the ski shop i work at and after i saw this thread i asked the rep about them and only 50 of the $4000 ones are getting made and the not open to the public to buy you have to have your name down on some list for them, im in the uk and only 6 pairs are coming to the uk, and ye there full one piece carbon fiber frames, gota be a millionaire or clinicly insane to buy them!! + they look wack!
