Trying to actually fight in Afghanistan is as pointless as Vietnam was. While it makes more sense for us to be fighting in Afghanistan over Iraq, no good will come out of pumping more soldiers in Afghanistan.
Pakistan (a very othodox, near radicalist Muslim country), whom we go through frequently to help fight in Afghanistan coincidentally created the Taliban in the beginning. They're pumped that we continue to fight in Afghanistan because the money inflows help keep their county afloat. In reality, they don't seem to care much for actually helping our intelligence find Taliban members, or al Qaeda.
As well, the terrain in Afghanistan makes it pretty damn hard to hunt down people. The only help we receive is from Pakistan, who generally only offer us lower level (of importance) people from the Taliban or al Qaeda whom are irrelevant in terms of the structure of these extremist organizations.
Trying to establish democracy in Afghanistan won't work either because as soon as we leave, the Taliban or another Muslim radicalist government will come down from the hills and back into power.
Conclusion: There is no way to win this war with our only real help (Pakistan) never wanting to actually cooperate, leave now and stop putting more money and soldiers into it.
OUR country is slowly going down, and in 100 years, right now will be taught in the history classes. Karl Marx would say it's a historical inevitability. Our forefathers warned us this would happen, freedoms being slowly taken away. The Patriot act was a slap in the face and WE let it happen. Universal health care will be another, because special interest groups have too much power. They'll say health care is to expensive with fast food and sports injuries. Torn ligaments are expensive. They'll try harder and harder to control out way or life. It's already started with smoking. Everybody has rights and everybody has beleifs on how you should live your life and they want to tell you whats right and wrong. Only you know whats right for you.
The war on drugs is a failure, The war on illiteracy is a failure. No child left behind act is a failure. USDA, FDA are corrupt and feed us false information and violate our trust everyday. There is a huge problem with farming production in this country because of USDA. The list goes on and on.
The only question I have, is when it gets really bad, and we can't afford anything anymore, your required car ins, your rent, your tuition, cell phone, cable, internet, gasoline, food and the clothes on your back. When we are beaten down and cannot live the lives we want and we are no longer happy, will the people of this country finally have the BALLS to stand up and say NO! I DON'T WANT YOUR WAY OF LIFE! Will we defend what we want, and the rights we are entitled too? Where will you draw the line on what YOUR government does and what YOU think and know is right? What is acceptable by HUMAN FUCKING STANDARDS? The torture in the bay prison was not the soldiers fault. Somebody authorized it. Al Queda does not hate us because we have supermodels and eat cheeseburgers. They hate us because we have been pushing our way of life and agendas all over the world. America is an empire. We have more military bases and weapons than any other country that has every been on the face of Earth. We are a world superpower that has let corrupt officials run America's name and it's people through the dirt and mud. This is not what we should let happen. So I really wanna know. Where will YOU draw the line before you say or do something about it? If you ask me that line has been crossed and it's time to rise up against our own tyrants and march on the capitol before we let it get worse. We need to take OUR country back. Get rid of the republicans and democrats. Start fresh. REAL change would be going back to basics and reinstall our ORIGINAL government. FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE. A REPUBLIC, NOT A DEMOCRACY. Not for the rich motherfuckers who bully us around. Do they even teach the definition of the word REPUBLIC in schools anymore?
I'm really shooting from the hip and am tired. I hope that all makes sense.
