hey,
i was with my cuz picking out roller blades today when i realized i should pic up the sport since i was a skier and i guess it would help me a bit with it (and + im tired of lookin like a fag on a scooter ^.^). but here is the problem: i have only bladed around 4 or 5 times before. i mean, i ski and can ice skate quite well and will probably be able to pick it up vary fast but i dont know if i should buy agressives or just regular blades. can sum1 help me out? thx

GET AGRESSIVES. if you start out with regular blades you'll go to agressives and feel weird because they're heavyer and the wheels are flat.

It's weird, aggressive inline's progression has been so slow and l;acking. I think the sport is tight, but seriously turpin used to inline a little bit but not much and now when he gets on a pair of blades he hucks cork 9 double grabs and thats a huge trick for that sport right now. it's pretty sad that it's not being pushed as hard as it could be.

Sorry I'm not super up on the whole fruit booting scene. But usually the xgames is a pretty fockin good example of where those sports are at. and cork 9's are one of the bigger tricks right now and turpin can do them without barely even skating. Skateboardings progression is far far superior and don't even try to argue against that.

The X-Games is a really poor example of the level that rollerblading is at. Why? you ask. It's pretty simple actually. Because its a collection of B class atheletes only doing tricks that they can land in their sleep during their runs. The top rollers aren't even there.
Lastly, if you aren't up to date on the 'fruitbooting scene' then why the hell did you even comment?

K for one, I think aggressive inlien is sooo much harder than skiing is. You wont have any problem skating if u know how to skate in ice, but tricks and stuff will be harder i think. Also, aggressive inline rail sliding is INSANE!!! best rail slides I've ever seen are all inline. Skateboarders, snowboarders or skiers cant even some close!!!! That shit is unreal!

Actually the spin/huck your brains out has already been done, and big stylie stuff is the standard, well, except for vert but vert is a different kind of skating with different skaters. Anyhow style is incredibly important, but the pros/industry dont have to advertise this on fucking billboards like the ski industry, its just understood. If you dont throw down a stylie run in a comp you wont be anywhere close to the leaders.

wow! Fight! I think it's alot easier to do spins and corked stuff on blades (also weird new made up tricks)(espesialy in vert)

yea well they have been pushing the sport alot. pulling inline tricks not known to inline skaters. espesially the younger brother he did a weird flair things with a cork in it and he staled in the middle of it to put in style then he brought back his speed in the air to make him land not in a staling posistion.
Also I once saw a guy pull something over 1440 once at a comp on tv. but he didnt land. its so much easier to huck on inlines and you notice that they never do grabs that are really interesting. It's weird I have to sides to defende.
Another person influencing thr sport is this Brazilian I saw once on a tv show (I think Offthewall) and he was the best at grinds he wewas doing grinds nobdys's thought off (ex. he grinded a rail on a staircase then jumped over to another rail doing a 180 then did 270 off) crazy shit like that. (I swear he's like the David Osato of Inline Skating)

well my point is i dont see a point in buying regular blades and come 2 months later when i really got riding on them down then i will want aggressives so i might as well just save alot of money and buy aggresives now

i think theres a shit load of people involved in skating. you should deffenitly try it. i dont rollerblade but my good friend does and hes super sick at it, like he can do 270 on and off handrails, everygrind, and bio spins. that shit is progressing so fast, hell go to the city any day and meet up with like 20 of his friends.

Inline is crazy hard.
it looks sooo easy. but fuck. put on some skates for a week and see just how much you can learn. almost dick all. rollerbladers are so tech, but skateboarding is super hard.
