Any NS'ers who rock at cars.....a girl needs to know how to fix a radio

alrighty car savvy guys,
i was at an outdoor jam like the day after Halloween. we used my car to blast beats for the afternoon. little did i know, the radio was draining my battery. so we had to jump my car. after that, the radio won't even turn on!!!!! its an old ass Volvo station wagon, from like '94. so if anybody knows, A) my eternal gratitude. B) top karma.

check the fuse for the radio, your car manual should say where its located.

Never heard of that before, you may have fried one of your fuses with the jump, so check those out first.

Also maybe you fried it when you jumpstarted it? Just a guess, I have no idea how that'd happen unless it was wired improperly. Could just be a shifty radio too?

Fuses are dirt cheap. Usually the fuse box cover has several extra fuses just incase one gets blown. Just make sure to get the right fuse.

i had a '92 volvo station wagon and radio went out. it turned out to be the fuse and i found some spares in the glove box. its super easy to fix. if it is anything like mine then the fuse box should be on the left side right about knee level when you are driving, it will look like a rectangle that pops off and there will be a bunch of fuses and they should be labeled. just find the one for the radio and swap it with a new one they just pop in and out.

When a battery in a volvo drains or gets disconnected, the radio is disabled. You will probably need to enter in a code found either in your car's manual, or call a dealership to get one for you. Happened to my volvo too. Ps. don't go punching in lots of numbers, or it locks up further.

Check you fuses like said.

There are probably spares  right near the fuse box, as well as a puller to get them out. If not they are like $2 for 10.

Find your fuse diagram in the manual or online, pull the one for the radio.

Look and see if the strip of metal inside is connected or if its broken.

Quoted for truth. My parents bought my little bro an old pos Volvo for his first car this past summer. He left the lights on and then had no radio. I did a little research and found out there's a tricky way of resetting it. Check it out in the manual, or take it to the dealer if the fuse thing doesn't pan out. They'll hook you up.
