Can the weight of the growing population have a negative effect on Earth? I do not mean the obesity problem, I mean the fact that in 1750 there were only about 791 million people who distributed about 54,776 million kg on the face of the earth. Move to 2008 and there were 6,707 million people who distributed about 464,459.75 million kg on the face of the earth. With current estimations, we are set to hit 9,746 million people by 2150. By my rough estimation that's 674,910.5 million kg distributed over the face of the earth. So over the course of 300 years, human beings procreating have added close to 620,134.5 million kg of weight to this planet. I know there is alot more to be taken into consideration, but this is just how my simple mind works right now. Does this seem fucked to anyone else? Thoughts, criticism, and the usual NS bashing are welcome. I got most of my information from wikipedia census pages, and did all the math with a calculator when I was very high, so forgive me if there are mistakes.
