Dakine Backpack question

I've got the same bag from a few seasons ago (i think it's the exact same one anyway) and it is small. It is absolutely perfect for skiing  though as it's got a narrow profile, super comfortable and no loose swing if your spinning if see what i mean, perfect size to fit shovel and other basics but not much more as well.

For anything else though it is pretty annoying - difficult to fit much in their for every day use, you might struggle with your notebook depending on the size. I've used mine for every day use a fair bit but there have been plenty of times when i've had to just leave stuff out as i can't fit it all in. I've now got a North Face Borealis for travelling and every day use and flat pack my Heli pack for skiing  trips only.

Having said that i'd still highly recommend it, i'd much rather have a perfect ski backpack rather than a compromise that isn't as useful, comfortable and versatile for skiing, it might be worth looking at getting a cheaper, bigger one as well at some point for more general use.

i also have heli pack from about 3 or 4 years back but from what i've read it's essentially the same. obviously designed for skiing/boarding so you can't really expect it to handle all your pack needs besides skiing...  aside from skiing i use it for traveling (on ski trips only) and it gets the job done. i can fit my 15'' laptop, ipod/headphones, traveling documents, hats, snacks and maybe a packable layer or so... but def not big a roomy at all.

I have the Heli Pro 20L its a good pack but its still really small in my opinion, but does get all your on-hill stuff in and your shouvelle, only thing is i dont understand why there is no system to attatch your shovel in properly like it just hangs in the slots loose but pros seem to do it fine so maybe it doesnt fall out I dont know.

But yeah Dakine makes quality shit I have a Pivot back that has lasted me 4 years and i rag the shit out of it, its a 36L but its really usefull and I take it pretty much everywhere can fit a lot of stuff in whilst still not being huge or bulky, but has padding and waterproof pocket.

Just look at it in the shop and think how much you can realisticly get in tbh I doubt I would want to carry my 13" laptop in the Heli pack.

i have the heli pro. best backpack ever. it fits everythingg. im pretty sure its for people 5'7+. im 5ft and its a little big on me but i still loveee it. plus its super comfy and really good to ski in

yeah its small but still good for carrying a laptop and a couple of books for school if necessary and the low profile is so awesome for skiing

haha, well i'm 6'2 so thankfully it won't be an issue. it seems like a sick backpack, so i'm pretty stoked
