Replying to Just a thought

Yeah i know im on a bit of a thread making binge... but i'll take a break after this one...


I find it amusing how right-wing religious Americans are so vehemently opposed to the concept of helping other people who cant afford healthcare via a public healthcare system... yet they claim to be christian, and one of the most well-known stories in the bible is 'the good Samaritan,' which is all about a dude who went out of his way to give all he could to help someone who he didnt know who was dying on the side of the road.

Now i know people just dont want to be 'forced' to help these people in need... but they really arent going to help them any other way. giving some money to charity is a lot less efficient than having a universal healthcare system that could guarantee care to anyone at any time.
So surely if youre going to claim to be Christian and to follow the stories in the bible, you would be all for universal healthcare...
